Foolish fairies filled with false fables... don't be deceived! Facts: "job is... to wink them out of existence" www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=1339Mort was happy. "I had a really good time" www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=1346Always smiling, having fun, good life after death. But then he was seduced by the fire haired girl. She charms him, holds his hand, kisses him, seduces him to suicide, winking out of existence when he is HAPPY! That girl is death. Beware forest creatures, or you too will be her victims!

Jeanne died and we did nothing.
Jeanne stands on guard to prevent forest and men from fighting.
But this fire haired girl wants to destroy Jeanne who protects us all from war.

There has been no indication so far that Antimony and the gang have thought on the possible consequences of removing Jeanne from the Waters. Removing her may very well make it easier for open war between the Forest and Court. She charms him, holds his hand, kisses him, seduces him to suicide, winking out of existence when he is HAPPY! That girl is death. Beware forest creatures, or you too will be her victims! I think you'll have to provide some evidence that Annie seduced Mort into his ultimate integration into the ether, since he suggested it nearly out of the blue (as far as the readers can tell). As far as her being death, I won't argue that. She did kill her mother just by virtue of existing, after all, and has a habit of reaping souls. She's pretty cold-blooded.

Sometimes to prevent a fire, you must first light a smaller one. Even GK Sierra agrees, Jeanne by stopping a few with her sword prevents a bigger war. She is so beautiful! It is true that she keeps both sides separate, and both sides have shown the ability to send spores to "infect" one another. The Court's tic-tocs that embedded into the far shore and began growing being one example, and the other being the containment facilities at the Court which are designed to prevent things from the Forest from becoming ensconced in the Court. Antimony risks destroying the status quo by lowering the barrier that made the Annan Waters nigh-impassable. On the other hand, the status quo is not good. Both sides still mistrust and dislike one another. The easy road is not always the right one. Perhaps Antimony believes that both sides can eventually live in peace, with her and her friend's help, and that is why she is not afraid of a potential conflict.

I thought it was already established that the tic-toc didn't have the time to root itself. Ysengrin may have know how little the Court knew about the birds and gambled that they didn't know that they couldn't do that, to put them off balance and make it seem like they owed something to the Forest - that is, to gain an advantage in any negotiations that may have followed, by making it appear that the court had already dealt damage.

Once both sides were together in forest. Both sides did not get along. Coyote had to separate them to keep peace. Good fences make good neighbours.

The feminine wiles of a wily seductress of DOOM or HOW Mort Was Seduced to Destroy Himself
Mort was happy, nobody can deny. Mort did not need to fear non existence. Humans have searched for all sorts of elixirs of immortality to have what Mort had... because humans do not want to wink into non-existence!
But then the seductress came. She flirted, sent valentine card, but always gave someone else more attention than poor Mort.
Plagued by love, a desire to help and a desire to be #1 if only for a few moments, Mort finally gave in and asked to be guided. In his naive child heart he did not realise the good after life he was giving up for a fleeting moment of passion.
(A good seductress always makes the victim think it was his idea)
...
Later I will talk about how even wisest and most powerful members of the forest were seduced by the seductive seductress of DOOM!

Did she seduce the two feuding moons as well?

Did she seduce the two feuding moons as well? Interesting line of thought. She isn't wearing clothes. And the moons appear to be staring intently.

gunnerkrigg.com/?p=490 Touching the moon. gunnerkrigg.com/?p=570 Jupiter moon Martians Some say that once in a blue moon, the moon returns to feel the fire haired girls touch again, and that the fire haired girl secretly got pregnant and gave birth to a fire haired moon as result, but most of us think that is just a tall tale.

I thought it was already established that the tic-toc didn't have the time to root itself. Right, ol' Yiss came along and smashed it, but it was in the process of rooting, which is pretty unusual for something made out of circuitry.

But the tic-tocs are not the court's. Even the robots know nothing about them.
And it is not established that the broken tic-toc would have rooted without Ysengrim's assistance. (It's less than firmly established that it did so even with that assistance.)

Antimony thinks that times have changed enough for open war to not be a concern. She doesn't actually say that open war is not a concern. One very powerful member of forest who is called a "general" is suspected to be nearly insane by Jones (worse than last time she saw him a generation ago) and already tried to attack Antimony once, and likes rest of humans probably less than Antimony. We've recently have seen Antimony visit a part of forest that was quite violent. Early chapters have multiple life threatening attacks on Antimony. We don't have evidence that forest and city are any less opposed to each other than when they were all together and couldn't get along in the beginning. One generation ago they had instances that look like small war... a forest creature causing havoc in Gunnerkrigg court, even with Jeanne guarding the water. We also have no idea what weapons of war Gunnerkrigg court is secretly working on, they could have an army of terrible Boxbots ready to march to war!

But the tic-tocs are not the court's. Even the robots know nothing about them. They are more the court's than the forest's, at least. To some degree, they are able to 'infiltrate' the forest. And remember, neither the Court not the Forest are following a unified plan of action. There are factions everywhere. So the tic-tocs may not be from the court, persay, but might belong to someone there (Robo-Kat, perhaps, cough cough?)

More importantly, don't be seduced by the seductive seductress of SEDUCTION! Can't tell you how important this is, guys. You'll think "oh, it's just chemicals in my brain, I can deal" and then POW! Suddenly you're six months engaged and she's talking about how many kids you want to have. (correct answer is zero, btw)

about how many kids you want to have. (correct answer is zero, btw) Too late. The blue moon may have been seduced by the seductive seduction of the seducing seductress, but now thousands of stars are his kids. He can't get divorced because no way he could afford the child support. Beware of lonely longings for lovely lusty love! Slip out the back, Jack... there must be 50 ways to avoid Annie!

Suddenly you're six months engaged and she's talking about how many kids you want to have. (correct answer is zero, btw) You are incorrect. One and two are both below population replenishment while five or more exceeds the number of hands you have (assuming you are a male/female pair bond) in case danger threatens and you must grab your offspring and flee. Three is too risky considering the possibility of accidents reducing the number of your brood down to two, therefore the correct answer is four kids. If your healthy working lifespan is longer than the human average you may be able to shoot for more (forgive the mental image) but I suggest you moderate the urge. Coincidentally, the number four also appears to offer a decent chance at having one child who actually appreciates you during his or her childhood.

the correct answer is four kids. The excuse is 4 kids. The correct answer is seduced by the seductress! If that doesn't happen then there's zero kids. But think it over... in every sibling set of four or more there's always a suck-up. But once in a while the suck-up isn't sucking up!
