Alright but remember you asked for it. Here is another of those awful parodies that I whip up in paint when I should be doing other things. It is about the mating dance of pigeons, except one pigeon is actually a teenaged boy. I know, too much text in panel 3 but I wanted to stuff it all into one page. [edit] Now with thumbnail preview. [/edit] Also here's links to #1 and #2 again. The compression seems to be getting worse over time, I can't read the background text in #1 anymore. I may reload them bigger someday.

Are you watching them on a different screen to the one you were using back when you made them, or on a mobile device? My laptop has the questionable ability to greatly enhance the visibility of JPEG-artifacts. And my mobile internet provider recompresses all JPEGs to make them even smaller/uglier.
Your parody is wonderfully absurd by the way ^^

My laptop has the questionable ability to greatly enhance the visibility of JPEG-artifacts. And my mobile internet provider recompresses all JPEGs to make them even smaller/uglier. I can't remember where I was when I last looked at #1 but I wouldn't have fiddled with anything art-ish without a full-size flatscreen. I do remember when I posted #2 I tested the new link for #1 and said to myself, "Man, it has lost much contrast in the second panel but at least people can still read most of the HA-HA's." Now the text in the background of that panel is almost completely blurred into oblivion. I think that is the result of photobucket compressing and recompressing the image but if it's just me or my service that'd be great because then I wouldn't have to do anything. Your parody is wonderfully absurd by the way. Thanks! In retrospect I should probably add a link to City Face #5 for the sake of the forum noobs, so they can get the main gag too.

As Boxbot stared into the candle, his circuitry and gears turned and worked, and he simply wondered “Why?” For you see, today was Boxbot’s birthday. He threw a big birthday bash. He invited everyone he knew, all of his friends, or at least the people who don’t hate him. It was held in the broom closet, because Boxbot has no home. And on that day, Boxbot continued to stare into the candle’s glow in the muffin he had baked. For himself. By himself. Forever. (for gunnerkrigg court fanart week on tumblr)

That is gorgeous. Not only because it's gorgeously rendered, but because of the collision of the two greatest memes this forum has ever seen.

doodley: I find this suitably terrible. It is at LEAST as terrible as kleenex dispensing boxbot.

I was given a piggy bank to paint. It was sold, along with quite a few others, for charity. I immediately thought of Coyote, and so... Other options considered include Ysengrin (would've made it, if I'd had another one), and Renard (too plain) edit: I just realized I didn't even think of what may have been the best ideas of all: Coyote and Ysengrin, as seen in the Ether.

Fanart week? Oh my! Do I need to figure out tumblr for this? I am afraid that yes, you need, sir. Your art is awesome and much needed at this time. Besides that, tumblr is easy to figure out. Really easy.

Yeah but how will you get the monies out? The traditional way. Basically, if Coyote ever does something that makes you want to smash his face in with a hammer, you can do just that. You even get some money out of it (pun entirely intended)! It was bought by a friend of mine (who now blames me for GC withdrawal symptoms felt every weekend), so I'll make sure you get pictures when that happens.

(clickthrough for full size, which looks much better) So I did a thing for Gunnerkrigg Fan Week...? The original sketch for this has been sitting on my desktop since John and Margo got to page 2 of their story in July, and since I'm currently buried in schoolwork I just decided to finish this. Perhaps over the weekend I will do something else, though!

Alphonse Mucha was a pretty awesome Art Nouveau artist dude. I took inspiration from his “Les Saisons” in making this.

Oh man oh man oh man. That would be so cool if someone could actually draw them out, Mucha style.
*debates doing so*
Looks very nice with Tom's art, though.

Thanks! I originally tried to draw them out, but if you've seen Mucha's art, it's a bit too flow-y and complex for me to emulate up to my standards. I might give it another go one of these days, though.

I might give it another go one of these days, though. Wouldn't it be more appropriate to swap Annie and Kat? I think Annie with her reserved personality (despite the recent post-forest outbreak) and red hair would be a better suit for Autumn, while Kat, the livelier one, could represent Summer.

The weird thing is, even before her trip to the forest, I still saw Annie as suitable for summer. For me, summer is the season of relaxation, of doing whatever you want. Summer is also the season that I get the most chance to experience nature, since I don't have to spend 7 hours a day in school and am free to roam. Annie I think represents the free-spirited nature of summer the best, and the fact that summer is the hottest season and Annie is a part fire elemental is just an added plus.
Also, I think Kat is much more suited to autumn than summer. Kat is a girl of numbers and mathematics; she's much more attuned to the court than any other character I can think of. Autumn is the season where these facets are the most present, as it is the start of the school year. Spring and summer are too "green" for Kat, and winter is too cold. Autumn is the perfect season.

This is old, scribbly, and not very good, but I don't think I ever posted it to the fanart thread. Also, it seems fairly relevant to the current page, so. You don't always choose who you love, and sometimes you have to make compromises for that love. But, still, there is nothing sweeter.
