In outfits like these, what are the straps actually for?

So she doesn't fall apart, duh!
paxjax, could you remove the picture from your post? It's only two posts above and also I'm still making minor edits/small fixes every now and then which I can only edit in my own post. :x

In outfits like these, what are the straps actually for? This might seem obvious, but they're for adjusting the fit of the outfit. Even in normal circumstances, your shape and dimensions change from day to day, and indeed throughout the day. It might well mean the difference between life and death to make sure an outfit like that fits properly and does not bind or slip at an awkward moment. HTH HAND

But don't the thickness and rigidity of the straps themselves more than outweigh any gains in loose fabric hold-down-i-tude? And don't the buckles amount to a million ways to catch a sword point, a twig, a knitting needle or anything else that happens to be nearby?

Saru, that picture is gorgeous! I especially love that you included the little Antimony symbol, that is a nice touch!

rey1 by Bobbeyjazz, on Flickr rey5 by Bobbeyjazz, on Flickr rey6 by Bobbeyjazz, on Flickr I have not posted on this forum for a VERY long time, but I still read the comic everytime it updates and check the forums quite often. I make pixel art, cross-stiching and sculptures in my spare time, and I started a project yesterday as a hommage to Rey. He's my favorite character in the entire comic, and I just had this vision of him riding his own wolf self in a cheerful glee. The stuffed rey I added afterwards when I figured, hey, what the hell, why not? I hope you enjoy!

That's awesome, Bobbey! What size is that sculpture? Is that clay? I've been trying alittle bit of "sculpting" myself, but I'm still very far from anything even remotely presentable. On that matter... has anyone around here ever made a properly sized and undistorted graphic out of the court's sky symbol? I vaguely seem to remember seeing that somewhere. I could use a template for something I have in mind...

The statue itself is about 4 inches tall, and it's made of baking clay called Super Sculpey. I bought it at my local crafts store. I made a huge bunch of these little sculptures, but this one is one of the largest I've done yet. Thanks for the compliment

SaruThat is exactly what I was looking for, thank you! You saved me from having to learn how to use Inkscape! ;D BobbeyAh, I heard of Sculpey. I use Fimo myself, which is basically the same stuff from a different brand.

I've wanted to use Fimo at some point in the future, but I enjoy painting these sculptures as well as making them Although maybe using white Fimo woud've saved me some time in the making of this particular piece XD

So given this place has been dry for a few weeks I figured it was darned time I added some more to the stock of Tomworship, lest his wrath descend upon us in five words or less. img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/thereisnosaurus/gunnerkriggallstarsfin.jpgThe Gunnerkrigg allstars face their toughest opponent yet: dragon army Which way does the betting go? techno-magical talents vs a platoon of tactical geniuses. Hope there some people who get the reference ^^

Hope there some people who get the reference ^^ For those of us who don't, could you please (a) point us in the right direction; (b) make the image somewhat smaller so it doesn't break out of the forum margins? Actually, could you (b) anyway, please?

Fixed. It doesn't break the margins for me though, so I didn't know it was a problem Also, telling is no fun, though I'm sure someone else will...

Nice piece there thereisnosaurus, funny you did it, cause I did something similar a week ago. More or less. Cookies for everyone that guesses correctly where the costume is from. Nevermind the random background and the abomination of an assault rifle (can you guess the parts? :D).
