Well, I know what I'm not voting for. At frickin' all. Is GKC on the list, though? I'll vote for that. Ooh, Sister Claire is there, too!

OK, people, what we need to do is vote enough on Gunnerkrigg to get it PAST Ava's Demon. It's already past Homestuck, so that's good. I'm surprised to find most of the comics I read or have read in the top. o.O Seriously, who the fuck would vote for either of those two? Well, aside from fans, of course. Ugh, sorry for letting my personal opinions get in the way. Whoops, 2 spoilers there. One's a dud, but I can't get rid of it.

Well, I'm partial to Girl Genius, Order of the Stick, XKCD, SMBC and Sandra and Woo. If Dresden Codak were not so fricking slow to update, I'd vote that one too. That's about all of the webcomics I like...
What's that? I've forgotten one?

I don't have a qualm about any of the others on that list. It's a shame Starslip finished up 2 years ago or I would have voted for that. Never realised there were so many comics.
Probably for different reasons than I do.

CovalentI think Ava's Demon is pretty good, actually. I will firmly agree with you on Homestuck, though. It's just the seeding round right now, so as long as GKC gets in the top 128, we're fine. DaedalusTrue story, I once asked Aaron Diaz why he updates his Tumblr more than his actual comic and he told me to do something that is not printable in a family newspaper. I guess when you're a Kickstarter millionaire you don't have to listen to fans anymore.

GK SierraWell, my reasons are a bit complicated, and honestly, most people don't get them because it's not something that most people normally encounter as a reason, so they get confused.

Covalent: share? Also, I feel pride that Gunnerkrigg is beating Homestuck.

That is actually a totally reasonable thing to be upset about. I would have felt the exact same emotion.

I have no idea what we're voting for, but done anyway, and for a few other comics I like. xkcd, girl genius, manly guys, widdershins, I don't know Ava's demon, tho heard a few people here mention it. I guess I'll have to go check it out!
Homestuck I got into for a while, but got a bit bored with it after a while, and sick of it after that candyland break whatever it was. After he took a short hiatus I forgot to check it in a while, then just didn't bother and haven't for about half a year now... Not sure what you guys' problems with it are though!

It just wasn't my kettle of fish, that was all.
MS Paint Detective was good for a laugh, but I felt like Hussie crossed a line with Homestuck where he wasn't just winking to the audience occasionally, he was blowing up the fourth wall with a nuke just for cheap thrills.

I would have thought you'd felt it unreasonable because of my complete dropping of the comic and fandom, but I feel that's the only way to rectify the situation. Apart from sending e-mails..

I disliked Homestuck, because I expect comics to at least have a veneer of a serious plot. Homestuck is just too...out there.
Plus the artwork is seizure-inducing.

I am voting for: Ava's Demon, Blasternation, Cucumber Quest, Derelict, Erstwhile Tales, Girls With Slingshot, Gunnerkrigg Court, Monster Pulse, Monsterkind, Namesake, Nimona, Shadoweyes, Skin Deep, Slightly Damned, Stand Still Stay Silent and Trying Human.
It seems like most of them will be making the cut, so far.

Nimona is awesome! Derelict has surprised me with its unique setting, Monsterkind has been pretty good. SSSS is awesome too! Monster Pulse is like an old childhood friend at this point.
I don't know if I'll be actively voting, but it's a great place to discover new comics. Seriously, there are just so many good ones out there!

I like how Garfield Minus Garfield made this list, and somehow even manages to be more entertaining than half the competition, which also consists of ovoid people staring uncomfortably into their featureless, neon-coloured environments.
Other than Gunnerkrigg Court, I'd recommend Dick Ruby and Stand Still, Stay Silent. Then there's good old Nedroid, which makes me laugh whenever it updates, so it gets the honour vote that I would have reserved for Achewood, inexplicably not an option when every terrible XKCD clone (really, look at this Doghouse thing or »Abstruse Goose«) apparently deserved a spot.

*runs through bookmarks list, except skipping homestuck because sick and tired of it being ___-pause 75% of the time*
Wonder if Tom's going to let Gunnerkrigg go in this year. The timing could be better, seeing recent events, but I dunno.
So we're suggesting stuff now? Aright the two other webcomics I follow the closest are Dr. Mcninja and Archipelago. Archipelago is I guess roughly similar to GKC with the tech/fantasy environment, but it's more directly tangled in old gods returning and relevant large-scale conflict. And Dr. McNinja is helicopter tree-ents and battlemechs made out of cities and pet raptor.

So I just read through all of Derelict in one sitting. With my usual track record, it will begin updating very irregularly if it hasn't already.

Derelict has had occasional missed weeks, but so far the track record for regular updating is fairly good.

OFF TO KILL SOME OTHER WEBCOMIC Questionable Content please? QC was the first webcomic I read, it got me into the entire world of them, so I still hold a soft spot for it. But the stories recently have just been all about shipping as many of the characters up as possible.
