I am so far! Although I'll try and add more links into the text to help people that don't have a background in modern history. If I end up making a 32mb gif animation every time someone wants to know more about something, we'll never make it to 50 000 words. edit: that's more than 11 3/1/2in floppys, I feel terrible now

dudeinthehat.tumblr.com/post/103255683597/9-pages-all-sketched-out-produced-3-pages-overThis seemed like the place to do this. I'm taking another stab at making my own comic. Now, these are just rough sketches. My plan is to sketch out 3 pages, and put them aside. Then, I will get three older pages, and ink those, so I can look at the art with fresh eyes. And then, set them aside, and grab three older, inked drawings, and completely finish them... I have enough pages now to attempt to start this cycle. It's a little intimidating, but exciting at the same time. It's starting to feel like I could really do it this time. If you like superhero stories, please take a look and tell me what you think.

Art is minimalist and very cool (imo), and I like the page layout. I don't know the characters yet, however - one can't judge a story by its cover

Hey, I'm posting to promote someone else (gasp!) Edgar Escalante is a good friend of mine, but he comes from a family that can't afford his college education. He wants to study Physics at ASU, and I can attest he's a dedicated and great guy. If you don't mind, it would be very nice if you'd go here and vote for him to receive one of these scholarships. It's a single click, and he certainly deserves it. Thanks

Voted ! Don't like it very much that I had to do it on FB and that the site "would like to post on my profile", but, heh...
I would like to add that I wrote two short (really short) novels that are now published in a book with other short novels. I'm proud. But it is in french, so... ^^"

Well, I'm working on a novel (which is heavily inspired by Gunnerkrigg. You'll be able to tell from the premise) Please give it a go! It's an alternate-universe sci-fi that defies the typical dystopian mold that seems to be sooooo popular nowadays. www.wattpad.com/story/30666888-automaton

elppa284 Thank you for your thoughts, however not really going further with any until I decide which to go with (3 comics at once would take forever to do, more so in 3 different styles). So for now there will only be one page for each style.
wombat Thank you

Of those two, I like the first better art-wise but the whole page is just introduction. No action. I'd have to see how the style handles things happening. Posting a link to the third with a suitable warning would be fine. Note: I find gratuitous panty shots annoying, particularly when they involve characters who are not comfortable with such displays. Also, please find an editor. I'm one of those weird people who finds grammar issues and wrong-homonym errors jarring. And I don't recognize your errors as fitting a pattern of foreign-language translation, which might get you a bit of a pass.

Can't deny I didn't bother to grammar check myself in all three of these. So you're going to continue to hate my writing. I've been on the internet so long that speed has become more important then grimmer, still can get it all right when I try however. The exposed underwear is less for perverse reasons, and quite non-sexual in how its shown and more meant to express a type of character. hmmmm, still unsure about showing it, if I get in trouble I shall have the most epic of frowns. Bra and panties are in fact shown in this, beware. pre13.deviantart.net/064c/th/pre/i/2015/086/b/c/sulfer_and_mercury_pg_1_by_unendingdreamer-d8ndswd.pngedit: Now that I think about it, I probably should have created a few posings and so on in the different styles rather then made a first page for them, which would show the limits of them all, didn't occur to me.

Yeah, I dunno if I'm going to like the story or not, but that third page works for art. And the grammar/spelling is clearly characterization and/or dialect. Bad by conventional standards, but it feels consistent and intentional. Not a problem.
(The sort of error that is HARD to justify that way is picking the wrong homonym. The integer between one and three is "two", or maybe "twa" or "prink" or some other thing, but not "to" or "too".)

It's officially been a year now (19 May '14) since I first put out the userstyle for these forums, and it just recently hit 50 downloads. If anyone here's (still?) using it, how's it holding up? I've been changing things on my own end here and there, but not sure how it's faring out in the wild.

I think Golden Knots is far more elegant and descriptive of what I do. Apparently my skill lies in visiting people's websites years before meeting them in online webcomic forums. I visited your site sometime between 2008-2012 (judging by where I lived at the time). *whispers* The Turk's Head, it called to me. Also I map hydrogen around Schiaparelli basin on Mars. (Or did, dissertation's completed now.) Rather disappointed. They never let me visit my field area.

Hm, well, I make costumes for folks. If you'd like to see my actual website, its a bit bare-bones but can be found here: www.theclockworkcoyote.comAlthough the gallery here is a little more up to date: theclockworkcoyote.deviantart.com/At the moment, projects in the queue include: A Viking outfit (for myself; I'm working a con with this theme in July. ...wool and faux fur in July, what could possibly go wrong....) The hat can be seen in the DA gallery. Hopefully I'll have the tunic done by this weekend (unbleached linen, keyhole neck with emerald blue-green trim; simple shoulders with gussets rather than fitted; Looking at some diagrams of Birka site finds) Several Hawaiian shirts for a customer (his wife apparently found some fabric she likes, which she describes as "Space Babes with Ray Guns") A Game of Thrones/Petyr Baelish-style robe. A friend was supposed to wear it to a mutual friend's wedding (yes, yes, we've heard all the GoT wedding jokes), though the event's been delayed so this got moved to the backburner a bit. Another Rathbone-era Sherlock Holmes coat, this time for a customer. A WoW mage cosplay outfit for a friend. Captain Mal of Firefly/Serenity and Captain Boone of Space Rangers for my dad. (Haven't heard of the latter? Don't be surprised. It was a six-episode summer filler series in the mid-90s that didn't catch on).

I wrote a third short novel that will be published soon in a second book, along with others from other authors. That's nice. I have to write some more, starting to like it.

I draw my own long meandering fantasy webcomic, with worse art. I post every day, though. You can find the link in my signature below.

Well, not self, but very shameless:
Kickstarter for a very good webcomic so they can print their 4th volume and more. You don't need to support, just checking it out and reading the comic is cool! If this is against the rules you are welcome to delete this.

An update on the May to-do list: Viking outfit (technically a work in progress still....sewing machine broke right before this con, so had to temporarily hand stitch the faux fur trim on as well as doing the leather belt and pouch stitching by hand): Sci-Fi Hawaiian shirts for a customer (customer's wife picked the fabric): (Images stuck under spoiler tags due to size)

An update on the May to-do list: Viking outfit I'm sure Vikings wore horn-rimmed glasses, and your beard is a bit short, but apart from that: perfect. Apart from money the only reason to never visit Hawaii.
