My guess: Ysengrin. Probably very irate at the new medium utterly disregarding the rules.

I like this page of course, but is it just me, or is the perspective in the last two panels kind of weird? It seems like they're closer to the city in the 5th panel and further away again in the 6th. I noticed the same thing when I was looking over it, and it took me a little while to figure out why. I think it's because of the height, which changes the field of view. In Panel 5 we're just above Antimony's head, so the buildings off in the distance take up more of the background. In Panel 6, however, we're suddenly at Eglamore's eye level but with a similar angle, which messes with the perspective. (Disclaimer: I am not an artist, have no idea what the hell I'm talking about, and am eating spicy chili)Tom is replicating a simple camera effect where the focal length is adjusted. In panel 5, the shot is taken with a long lens, while in panel 6 it is taken with a wide-angle lens. This video explains the mechanics behind it quite well if anyone's interested in photography. You've probably seen this used for dramatic effect in video where the director smoothly adjusts the focal length from wide to long (or vice versa), which creates a strangely disorienting zoom-like effect.

I'm picturing a huge swarm of forest creatures needing help

I know it's a way to show emotion, but snakes don't sweat. The snake can shake off a few loose scales, however. This is stylized cartoon-style storytelling. Given proper motivation, furniture can sweat.

I think the plan is either they ended up being spotted by Ysengrin OR the redcap lady and her new groom met each other's parents who didn't approve and now they're running from angry old old old old parents.

I think if it was an angry Ys or Coyote, things would be drawn much less comedically. Nor would Annie have been running away laughing. I want to say it's a swarm of Forest People running to get Smitty's help, but that seems too predictable for our lovely trollartist Tom.

So satisfyingly cruel. Their expressions seem so comical, maybe it's something completely random. A backlash for the good luck overload. I haven't the foggiest, but I'm betting it has something to do with marbles.

Quick question- everything we've seen in this chapter is something you could see in an English forest right? Except for Forestface obviously. Chickcharnies are from the Americas.

There aren't any bears left in England, either (at least, not in a wild state).

The flying octopus may be a common sight in France and Germany, but (ironically) it has yet to cross the English Channel.

And the grey squirrels. No, we do have Grey squirrels here now, they were introduced from the americas and are gradually outcompeting the native red ones, which are now reduced to a few small populations in remote regions We don't have bears, cobras, floating octopi (octopuses?) or chickcharneys, but we do have far too many gnomes (they are a bit of a pest to be honest). Also I don't think the 'surprise' is Ys, Annie wouldn't be laughing if it were the case, and surely Coyote would want to play with the new mediums first before setting an angry Ys on them?
