Rey's much more polite with his sniffing than my parents' dog. Yeah, at least he's keeping it above the belt. Crotch rocket dogs cease to be amusing when you have your boss and his posse over for dinner. (Yeah that's Aggie, he's heh- he's real friendly... NO AGGIE! BAD DOG!) The girls still have a few years before they're around that age, though, so Rey will hopefully keep this one to himself for now. I don't know about that... Rey's never been known to pass up an opportunity to make everyone squicky and uncomfortable. I think he respects Smit's privacy though. I suddenly am not sure of the role of the medium anymore. I checked the comic but to little avail. Are they unbiased mediators or basically ambassadors of the court to the forest? The job description makes it sound like the first one, but they are appointed solely by the Court, so that seems quite impractical. I've also been confused. At first I associated the title medium with Antimony's ability to act as a guide for the dead, but in recent chapters its been attached to this job. I guess we'll find out more when Antimony actually gets to work.

Interestingly, Antimony is dressed like Smitty, with a tie, while Parley isn't. There's also some visual symmetry going on with panel 2 and panel 5.

Hmm, they're all standing to the side like they did the first time they met. Maybe there'll be an appearance from Coyoters again? Naming a new medium should be something that interests the forest at least a little bit. Oh, I do hope so. :3 That would make this all the more interesting (especially if Annie is not chosen).

Interestingly, Antimony is dressed like Smitty, with a tie, while Parley isn't. I would have thought that the tie was dressing code in GC. Pheraps some rules are relaxed for adult women, Parley maybe is in an age category where she can dress differently. Or there are different "uniforms" since Kat's mom is dressed the same way. Perhaps the uniforms vary slightly by which House you're in? The girls still have a few years before they're around that age, though, so Rey will hopefully keep this one to himself for now. Well, he is much nicer and more tactful as a wolf than as a stuffed animal. Yet, this is the guy who came up with "does this excite you, girl?" so I'm not too confident that he's not going to mock them later, in private. I would never get use to the BIP, nor take it as calmly, as Annie seems to do. I'd always be doing spit-takes and screaming obscenities. If I were alone in the kitchen, someone might get stabbed. Just saying. She only takes it calmly because all her friends were eldritch abominations growing up. There's probably not much that could startle her compared to that. I've also been confused. At first I associated the title medium with Antimony's ability to act as a guide for the dead, but in recent chapters its been attached to this job. I guess we'll find out more when Antimony actually gets to work. I assume the medium is responsible for inter-party relations between the two groups. An impartial ambassador that works for both teams.

I wonder if Parley's teleportation has any "ripples," so to speak, in the ether. Ripples which Annie (or possibly other etherically-inclined beings) could sense just before the couple appears.
As for the issue of uniforms, the formal dress code for students up to year 11 seems to be white shirt, green tie, green blazer, and green pants (men) or skirt (women). For year 11 or higher students (and adults), it seems to be black shirt, green blazer, and the women can wear pants in lieu of a skirt.
Presumably, men could wear kilts, but that hasn't come up yet.

Just as a "Dragon Slayer" doesn't necessarily slay dragons.

Just some wild speculation here, but I'm guessing Jones is standing next to the headmaster's chair.

Interestingly the linked page implies a Court-only ambassador with a forest only counterpart. At least that'd be my interpretation: There are two figures between the groups on the right side of panel 1; one human and one forest-guy There is no impartial mediator. Which leads to the question: Is there a forest medium?

I think Tom said, either on the forum or formspring, that Ysengrin is the Forest's Medium.

There are *3* choices, I find it funny how Andrew is ignored as option.

Being a medium would take time away from... ... other things he could be doing.

Skirt/Pants thing is a personal choice of the wearer, they wear which of the two they're most comfortable, assuming it follows the rules of most other schools in England. Way back when it used to be gender tied but girls are allowed to wear pants or skirt nowadays (technically men are allowed to wear skirts or kilts, in practice there is much uproar and commotion when it happens.)
