Too bad we don't know if other robots have that same part. Actually, the fact that Kat of all people doesn't know what it is is a pretty strong indication that it isn't standard. (Also, meta reasoning dictates that if it wasn't significant, then Kat wouldn't have mentioned it.)

How many court robots has Kat got to examine like that, though? The whole affair feels like nobody really pays them any mind, and they seem to keep to themselves. I think they do all their own repair work, don't they? It seems a lot like they're a separate society within the court rather than being kept by the court.

Maybe that's what they decided to do a long time ago, and S13 is branded a "criminal" for associating with regular folks. I hope we get enough of his back-story sometime to know why he ended up in a box for Antimony to discover and reassemble. That was a milder fate than being turned into a box of paper clips. Maybe it was a second offense? :)
