Think Coyote's tooth could cut her?

She must also have incredible control over her strength.
She hasn't been tested with a direct, point blank, nuclear explosion yet though, and probably wouldn't want to. Plus she would end up having to be entombed somewhere for a million years or something.

Imagine if the rest of the world knew the Court had their own femme-fatale version of Doctor Manhattan.
Yes, hello, this is the Pentagon.
We'd like 4000 of these. Do you make them in OD green?

Think Coyote's tooth could cut her? I somehow thing everything that exists would be better off if that question was never asked.

I suppose this means her hair doesn't grow. It seems implausible that it looks so neat and stylized, however this is made muut (see what I did there?) by the overriding implausibility of an indestructible being with the form of a (highly attractive) female Caucasian before humans existed.

He was kind of vague with that statement, but from what we've seen, it'll cut through steel with no effort.

For some reason, this made me think of this question (which I'm certain many of you have asked already): Is Jones able to bare children? Or if she ever tried, which she probably did—and if her immortality, super strength, and lack of emotion is genetic. Her body "cannot bend, or break, or manipulate like wet clay." So, I guess she cannot bare children since a fetus needs to grow in her, manipulating her body. If what Jones says is true, even her own organs cannot bend or stretch to accommodate a baby. Assuming she has organs... which she probably doesn't even know considering nothing can cut her open! Grr... maybe if she stood behind an x-ray, or had a CT scan, or an MRI. Does Jones have a DNA code? I know her hair can't be ripped out. Does Jones produce saliva? Maybe not since she doesn't eat and saliva is produced when we eat... And back to the organs, I guess she doesn't have those since organs function when we consume food; no need for food, no need for organs. She can recall every second of her existence... so does she have a brain to store those memories? I know there's that joke of Jones not being a robot/android (and recently golem), but how can she remember all this without a memory chip of some sort? Maybe she doesn't have a brain because she has little or no imagination... Hahaha! I sound so ridiculous asking and then answering all these questions. It's like I'm just talking to myself. But with all this new information/confirmation of Jones, I just want to "break" Jones down. :p

I also like the idea of attempting to use a CT scan or MRI to image her internals.

Is Jones able to bare children? I'm sure she's able to, but I'm not sure it's morally acceptable to strip a random child. Meanwhile, I think you meant bear :P But that's something I've considered too, and at the moment I think I'd say no. In fact, I've been thinking for a while (but haven't mentioned due to not wanting the conversation to deteriorate too badly) that I don't think she'd even be able to have sex. And I don't want to break Tom's 3rd rule, so I'll leave it at that. Anyway. Also, Jones' comments in the last two panels make me reconsider the relationship between her and Jimmy Jims. I keep thinking about how forced her attempts at kissing look in 1099. She really is just copying. Makes me think that the only thing that has really changed is that he's grown attached to her in the time between then and now. She's just copying human interaction - could very well have been copying Surma with him - and doing what seems normal.

So why has Jones not tried to mimic a smile?

So, if Jones has no "capacity for emotional connection", if she is unable to experience "a flood of emotions", why is she so intent on gaining social skills by "close observation and mimicry?"
Could it be that - in spite of her claims of not being able to experience this "flood of emotions" - that Jones is able to experience unhappiness in not being, in not feeling human?
Could she simply be lonely?
Yours, James D. Gray

"I learned all of my social skills through close observation and mimicry"
You don't say :-|
Does anyone else find the "except for my own body" line kind of ominous? That means Jones could theoretically kill herself if she wanted to.....

A remarkably sad, if matter-of-factual page. I feel sorry for her - what is the purpose of existence. And the Coyote tooth concept is an ugly one. I fear that result. I don't want the story to go there ever. However, the unique shadow person - the one lifted from the earth, that interests me. I wonder if Jones and the unique shadow-person might both be unique people.
Jones is a fascinating enigma.

Think Coyote's tooth could cut her? Good question! But I doubt it, due to her saying, " You know I can take her if I wish." Now, we have some idea of what she actually meant.

Re: Coyote's tooth, Jones's description of herself is stronger than Coyote's description of his tooth. My guess is that it would not cut her.
I'm wondering which of the following Jones possesses: -A heartbeat -A digestive system (any internal organs?) -A navel -Fingerprints -Functioning ovaries? Does she menstruate?
It's certainly very mysterious why there should be a being that resembles humans very closely physically, but is nothing like them internally. A being who's lived for billions of years and remembers every second...who feels no emotions but chooses to involve herself in human affairs. I daresay we are incapable of comprehending her (well, except she's a fictional human creation).
I really like the idea that she wasn't created by a higher power or an intention of any kind, just that she simply came into being, and she'll never know why. Very intriguing.
One clue however is that she does have a beginning, at the creation of the earth. This says to me that an end is possible. Whether it would be tied to humans or to the planet or to something else, I don't know. I'm sure she's thought a lot about it.

This also gives perspective on Coyote's relationship with Jones:
Coyote's greatest power comes playing mind games and manipulating emotions. Jones is immune to him. That must drive him crazy!

Looking back on past chapters-- I've noticed that Coyote can affect Jones. He stopped time, which also stopped her. Hmmm distressing for the whole Jones vs Coyote debate.
