Yeah, I noticed the Jones resemblance myself. Was wondering if it was just me.

At least some of them have mute buttons because they tend to go berserk if the leads come off (since to the machine that looks like the heart rate just flat-lined). I know in the E.R.s around here all the combo heart rate/blood pressure/blood oxygen monitors have them because they leave those on 24x7 and turn the sound on when necessary. (For lots of patients it's not, like someone in for a kidney stone say.) I suppose it's also worth mentioning that that wasn't a real heart monitor we saw, it was a dream heart monitor in Kat's subconscious. I am well aware of that, thank you. Apparently a shared dream too! But they are fantastic! That one looks pretty badass. Never heard of one with a mute button though, just a sorta silent mode and a reset switch. Silent mode isn't total mute. It will still beep every so often so you know its on, working, and in use. Of course it will also begin beeping if heart activity gets too far out of normal ranges. It's a good thing I said I've never heard of one with a mute button and not that they can't have a mute button. Thank you for increasing my knowledge of electrocardiography units

I suppose it's also worth mentioning that that wasn't a real heart monitor we saw, it was a dream heart monitor in Kat's subconscious. Annie was really in hospital and had really collapsed. We can presume that she had a real heart monitor, too. Let's presume. It's easier than to see the same device at the same place right from the first panel of the second page after they awaken... The cable goes to the other side, though. *sigh* I don't understand. Anyone know what the page is about? Tea is very cute. Also - look, a heart rate monitor! Yeah, I noticed the Jones resemblance myself. Was wondering if it was just me. General shape is close. Hairdo is the same. Though in profile face is different and she got big eyes. In panel 4 looks very Jones-y.

Of course. However, Kat was already asleep when the scene started. That's why everyone was there but didn't react to Zimmy. Kat was dreaming them. I know. My point was that there really was an actual heart monitor there anyway, which also made to Kat's dream along with the real hospital bed and real Annie.

I tried to post this in the comments on the comic itself, but Tom hasn't quite gotten to it:
Basically, Tea just read the plot/script for the chapters she's been elsewhere in panel 1, then in panel 2 she finds out that despite all of the crazy unexplained stuff that's gone on since she's last showed herself, she's been asked to explain a heart monitor. Hence her annoyance.
And ours.
But Tom feasts on our confusion. He is like the salt monster. But his sustenance is bewilderment.

It's been awhile since we saw a 113.

There's a strip in the local paper that just doesn't work at all. I never knew who said what, and half the time I couldn't tell the character's gender. Gave up trying ages ago.

Meh. Looking back at this page, I see that Jones has smaller eyes and a differently shaped nose than Tea. Also, Tea actually smiles.

Tom never explains things(which is a common complaint when Zimmy shows up there's a new page.) Fixed.

That reminds me of a popular webcomic often shortened to 3 letters two of which being consonants and one a vowel. It was funny from time to time and when the plots weren't stupid they were quite enthralling. Unfortunately the writer sometimes started a plot then couldn't think of a good way to develop and would pull something trite or overly cliché out of his ass. And until one noticed character traits many characters were basically indistinguishable from looks/body language alone.
