Yeah, either that or he'll get a nasty, white-legged surprise. Haha, how hilarious would it be if Tony fell madly in love with Zimmy? I mean, it would never happen, but still. Funny stuff. Yeah, I was staring into Zimmy's flaming eyes and wondering to myself "Jesus Christ almighty Jack, why couldn't you have just stuck with Carver?". Way less baggage and he already has an opening, or had one.

I think he has one, I'm not a shipper but I cannot visualise Annie with any other already introduced man, and she totally has to get one... because of baby drama. I wonder if whatever Zimmy is doing right now is actually hurting her. Maybe it's a sort of burning sensation that is reapresented by that fire? That's what I was thinking, because of the "how is Zimmy being in control of her powers/issues right now"-theory. Kat's "is it safe" and Gamma's pat really intrigue me. And I am quoting so much.

That's what I was thinking, because of the "how is Zimmy being in control of her powers/issues right now"-theory. Kat's "is it safe" and Gamma's pat really intrigue me. And I am quoting so much. It's a bit early to bring the baby issue up when it comes to Annie's potential relationships. By all accounts Surma and Anthony only got together somewhere near the end of their studies at the Court, and only got Annie a few years later. Don't put your money on Jack alone just because he's the only major male character so far; there's a lot of time for new characters to appear and new developments to happen. Also, while I have appreciation for bittersweet endings, I don't particularly like foregone conclusions or unavoidable destinies most of the time. I would be dissappointed if Annie didn't at least make an effort to break the chain of her heritage. Anyway, back to the comic at hand. Zimmy seems to be straining badly, trying to reach Anthony. I hope she doesn't lose control in the process. Also, I really wish that we'll get at least an inkling of what he's doing by Friday. This suspense is killing me. It looks like he's aetherically inside those bone-spikes/fingers/whatever, or else they act as a window of some sort to where he is, but he's not supposed to have any aetheric powers, himself. Is someone helping him, or does he have a machine to do the aetheric manipulations for him?

Tony is going to find Zimmy very useful. Yeah, either that or he'll get a nasty, white-legged surprise. He's very unlikely to be nutritional enough for them. Yeah, I was staring into Zimmy's flaming eyes and wondering to myself "Jesus Christ almighty Jack, why couldn't you have just stuck with Carver?". Way less baggage and he already has an opening, or had one. On the contrary. This shows the more badass and somewhat less mad part that makes it understandable. Also, this, of course.

The fun thing was he *didn't* beg on bended knee... which really caught Annie off-balance... which means he might have stood a chance? Oh, romance! Who can tell!!? Zimmy's straining? Whatever you think of Tony's attitude, *don't* think he's going to be a pushover! Final thought: here's a case of the head-Kats (if I've got the attachments working!?) Attachments:

Could only see that one with a time skip. How many years would Gunnerkrigg have to run for Annie to even be 18? No, while the groundwork is obviously there for "what if Annie has to face the same choice as Surma?" I don't think we'll ever actually get there.

Well, I'm kind of assuming nothing horrible would happen, because this is gunnerkrigg not Lao:svu and Zimmy is Zimmy. I just mean, you saw how he was about brinne.

(City Face will have a bad case of the headkats.) ^ sounds legit. And i wonder if Zimmy's fingers turning dark (necrotic?) at the touch of the bone things is ominous of the nature of bone things. and actually I would really like to see city face with a case of the headkats. gosh golly that needs to exist somehow... Her hands are dirty, it's just shading. :T

I'm kind of just assuming that Annie has angst about her father, and it's messing with her. That's why the bones (tony) are piercing into her heart. If Zimmy is about to actually contact Tony in the etherum (or the real world even), then I guess that really speaks to how much it really bothers Annie and how strong Annie and Zimmy's etheric abilities are.

Maybe that's why he is in space, for protection against the fire-elemental he is "operating" on. But how could Tony imagine Annie would have a demigod watching her back eh? But this also kinda shows how "powerful" Tony is. To be able to project his presence a few kms over earth is presumably no small feat.

Well, she did ask him for the kiss again, and I don't think the second time was an elaborate plot to psych him out like the first Maybe its just me, but they seem like a good pair, and not just in a "oh gosh, wouldn't they look adooooorable walking down the street hand in hand squeeee" kind of way. Jack seems every bit as unflappable as Annie, and whoever ends up putting a ring on that finger is going to have to be able to handle some serious shit and still put a smile on at the end of it all, which is pretty much Jack's style. Plus he can see right through the little ruses and manipulations that she's pulled on other characters (and their *ahem* homework).

Not sure I trust the hyland dynasty as yet, but jack is undoubtedly cool. However, I do not think we can ignore his feeling for Zimmy...

I agree that we shouldn't write them off yet. Maybe both of them just need to grow up a little. I really enjoy their dynamic as friends, and think they'd also be a good couple: he has the potential to be a really good influence on Annie. I hope we see more scenes about the two of them, either with or without the romance.

I hope we see more scenes about the two of them, either with or without the romance. Agreed. It's the chemistry I enjoy, romantic or otherwise. Some people (Eglamore springs immediately to mind) just seem to glance off Annie, like a HEAT round off of sloped armor. Or you know, water off a duck's butt, or whatever. Jack though, he seems to be one of those people that can draw her out of her shell. Sometimes its in a good way, sometimes its not, but its always interesting.

It would be the other way around: Jack invents an outrageous clownade, Annie seethes trying to get through it. For one, who can tell now, whether he was serious about Zimmy? But hey, if she gets to that diplomatic post, she needs a good training. Hmm, interesting! Not sure I trust the hyland dynasty as yet, but jack is undoubtedly cool. However, I do not think we can ignore his feeling for Zimmy... I hope we see more scenes about the two of them, either with or without the romance. I strongly suspected that Jack will end up with Kat. For one, they did get along well and had a nice shop-talk before he got head-bugs, and now he's a fellow gadgeteer-to-the-core who after a "prod" from whitelegs became very much magic-aware, so it seemed inevitable they will work together. But now all this looks more and more like an incoming ball of yarn, even more snarled than in the previous generation, but with a little more overall goodwill too.
