Wow Tom! Congratulations! Excited to see where this is going, if I wasn't so poor I would send a donation and buy the books already out. But sadly I am.
Seriously though, this is my favorite webcomic. I look forward to updates so much, and it shows how much work and effort you put into it.

Many superb congratulatings! It's about time. And how better to announce it than with one of your trademark deadpan comic comments?

I hope this brings you much success, Tom. I am excited to continue enjoying your creative and well-made works.
And I take the Twitter picture to mean that your exit from your old workplace was on pleasant-enough terms. Which is also good to hear.

I assume he was referring to this pic Tom posted of the farewell gifts from co-workers.

I assume he was referring to this pic Tom posted of the farewell gifts from co-workers. Though I very much doubt it to be the case, this could also be construed as them saying 'thanks for leaving; here, have some free stuff. Don't come back'.

I laughed, offline. Thanks, csj. Now, Tom: It was a long way, and i followed it for a long while. I hope it will be just as long until the conclusion, if not more (and i'm still asking myself what those footsteps in the pictures, in the old library mean!). It gave much happiness to me, and i hope it will give just as much to you as it already did, in the future! To further decrease your spider count, i'll load my debt card with some cash and get something cool that i will wear this summer. Who cares for Zelda shirts, my fandom is much cooler. You people know i like to punctuate everything with music, so i was thinking about it and i think this can only go with: "Dear You: Hope" www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTnHpEDYiOIPS: I'm sorry that the Gunnerkrigg Minecraft Project went in an unplanned hiatus, but people seem to have lost interest in minecraft in general - this coupled with some forced downtime sent the server into emptiness. I consider this a failing against you, Tom, and will try to put everything back into working order.

Oh my GOD.
I really hope this goes well and I'm happy for you. It's a big step. All of us definitely support you. I've been reading since 2006 (six years...ho-ly...) and bought Book One over the winter holidays.* I've been off the site for a little while and have missed what's probably a lot...life's been busy. :/ But I always come back to find out what's gone on and really get into the love of the comic again.
Because I do love the comic, though. Gunnerkrigg was one of my first fandoms, and I still enjoy it as much as when I first found it. Your work is special and it means something to me and to all of us. So don't doubt that.
Congratulations, Tom.
(*I can't believe I didn't mention it before. I'll add, the book is beautiful and it's really excellent to read it in sequence on paper for once, as opposed to web page. The colors were done well, it really came to life in a different way. :) Also, the bits at the end were a nice surprise - I had always heard of them existing, but never seen them. The paper was a really nice quality too.)
