Everyone's hair looks amazing in the ethereal. Also, I wonder if the teacher is aware of their out-of-body shenanigans.

Why so much clapping?
Did Annie just miss something awesome?

I think they're clapping because she just figured out what was going on.

Tell you what, I was *wondering* if something like that would happen; didn't exactly call it, but, yeah...

I'm sure the teacher is also giving the class ethereally. That would explain why the teacher is also a fairy. The physical class is a facade to avoid having to give explanations in case a normal student walks in.

Oh, this is so cool! I'm very excited! *squeal*
Hopefully Antimony will learn some cool new tricks, for example how to be etheric but not have her physical body look like it is sleeping.

There is another girl with a blue cut-like thing on her face. However, behind physical Annie, there is a physical girl with a mark under the same eye, so maybe it's a mark of other significance.

The boys behind Annie's head... a skunk and a catfish? Maybe?

I vomited excessively this morning and I'm gonna miss Midterms. This page has me grinning like an idiot.

Ah, good, so I wasn't the only one to notice that. Also I love how Tom throws all these unique designs in for characters that aren't really all that important.

The boys behind Annie's head... a skunk and a catfish? Maybe? The guy with the striped hair, maybe, but the one next to him looks like a wood elf. Who's to say that all of the girls are ex fairies though and only the boys are former animals (despite the origional gender of said former animal). As for the clapping, they're welcoming Annie to the class. Also, theres blue There is another girl with a blue cut-like thing on her face. However, behind physical Annie, there is a physical girl with a mark under the same eye, so maybe it's a mark of other significance. I think that's actually the same girl.

I love how colourful this page is.
Also, now we know the fairies retain some etheric powers. I wonder if all forest creatures can look into the ether...

Even ants? (hell, there is an insect psychopomp, is there a psychopomp for single celled creatures?) Or is there a limit as far as intelligence goes as far as what can 'take the test' and change into a human?

Probably... but what's to stop a special specimen of ant or microbe that is 'more intelligent' doing it?
I'm so far liking seeing this. The etheric realm is always so colourful.

At the level of ants all the way down to bacteria (probably not viruses as the definition between living and dead is blurred), how do you define 'more intelligent'?

...I thought Annie gave her blinker stone away. Did I miss something? Or has it just been too long with too many other webcomics read in between that I've forgotten?

She didn't give it away, she just let Jack borrow it for a few minutes a few chapters ago,

The boys behind Annie's head... a skunk and a catfish? Maybe? I think the blue one is a girl; no necktie but a skirt, if I'm not mistaken. Yea you're right. Maybe she is a former wood elf? I don't know if tom said explictively that all the girls in foley are ex-fairies and all the boy are former animals, it could be a mix. I agree that the blue one is a girl though.

Also, that guy in the middle is upside down. Why is he upside down? It's confusing! D: Best way to draw him/fit him into the panel maybe? He's not the only one upside down, Red is technically upside down and theres the blond guy in the upper right corner. Besides, all that panel is doing is showing everybody welcoming Annie to the class. Random wildspec: He's a former tree sloth or bat, and so he likes to hang upside down from time to time. Since Red kept her personality quirks, etc, it could stand to reason that former animals could remember their past and keep their old personality quirks and stuff. Also, Red looks like she is about to rush hug Annie. I think she was also giving a hint with the glance in the previous page.

While an individual ant is probably not intelligent enough, theoretically the colony would have enough enough intelligence to do something like this. I generally tend to think of eusocial creatures as one consciousness with legion bodies. It'd be pretty cool if one of these kids were an ant colony given a human body. ...That would be an amazing story. Also, I'm surprised it did take Annie so long to look in the etherium. She just spend the whole summer in the forest, you'd think she'd be used to etheric shenanigans.

Such a beautiful page! And Red being her adorable impish self. My theory is that they were waiting for Annie to help complete their hair rainbow. This is the most fun explanation, so by Rafael's Razor it's the truth.

This page looks great. I'm glad that Red and the ex-fairies were just pretending to pay attention. It would be awful if Red changed.

Also all the girls have pointed ears, while the guys have rounded ones. So the girls are likely all ex fairies and the guys are from some other place, not all of them have to be animals though, In this comic www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=321 Red just says they were "a bunch of different stuff"

All of the Foley students have an aura around their heads in the color of their hair (if applicable), while Annie's color is completely self contained. I wonder what that means. It can't be just power level or natural connection. From what we've seen Ysengrin also has no visible aura, while Coyote only has a small one.

To keep up the spirit of pointless guessing, and looking at colours... I wonder whether top-left and bottom-right ones are those two fairies from "The Wonderful Plan"? Also, we used to Red playing slapstick relief, and oops. Everyone's hair looks amazing in the ethereal. They're fairies, after all. Also, I wonder if the teacher is aware of their out-of-body shenanigans. Why not? She's a fairy too, after all. If she's more concerned with, say, fine points of autonomous body movements programming (in the light of the Court's next ball) than with this playground - again, why not? I'm sure the teacher is also giving the class ethereally. That would explain why the teacher is also a fairy. The physical class is a facade to avoid having to give explanations in case a normal student walks in. Maybe, automated rapid typing while having fun is the exercise today? At least, it's a good training. My theory is that they were waiting for Annie to help complete their hair rainbow. Ha, good one. Today's lesson: colour arrangements in the flying circle-dance! What?
