Probably Shadow2 makes vibrate himself now, since he has surface.

The exact mechanism of how was never revealed, I bet Tom doesn't even know how Shadow2 does it, we just know what he does. He has his normal voice back, so I guess he is a quick learner on vibrating using various surfaces or mediums and air is a medium for sound. Not sure if he can vibrate on surfaces that don't lend themselves very well as vibration conductors such as loose clothing. Here, I'll just go with artistic license and Glass Eyed men are apparently made of some exotic organic material I guess.

Now I guess he makes sounds like we do, by vibrating the air.

All I can think is that once he gets the hang of things he can make himself look very scary when his hood is up.

"So, Fire Head Girl, what have you been up to since last we spoke?" "I accidentally turned one of your glass-eyed men three dimensional and dressed him up in people clothes. He is now in a platonic quasi-homosexual relationship with a robot who may or may not be attempting to create a messianic cult centred around the worship of a schoolgirl. Also I failed maths again." "HAHAHAHAHAHA!!"

Usually I'm the Blue Marble, but this seems more appropriate

"HAHAHAHAHAHA!!" I LAUGHING ON LINE'd. Sigged. Sort of. The quote header eats characters like crazy. Also, kind of called it on Shadow's choice of clothing. I can't tell if it's "bros" or "big-brother-little-brother" or some kind of hero worship, but they really go together.

Next weeks lesson: The wonderful world of biscuits featuring chocolate disgestives, hobnobs, garibaldi's and fruit shortcakes. And maybe Jaffa Cakes. ;D Oh my, I've only heard of digestives, and I can't even tell you what they are! I look forward to learning more. Regarding clothing: quite a lot of items of clothing have different names in the US versus the UK. I once came across a list of ten names of items of clothing, the list as a whole having the following characteristics. I tried to find this list online, but instead I found these- septicscompanion.com/showcat.php?cat=clothingwww.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/customs/questions/americanbritish/clothes.html Pants, suspenders, vests, how funny! I knew what trainers, wellies, and nappies were, but now I feel enlightened. I love cross-cultural learning

Now I guess he makes sounds like we do, by vibrating the air. We vibrate the air we breath out with our vocal cords. Does he breathe, all of a sudden? Or maybe he uses another layer of himself to vibrate against. I mean, he could change his shape earlier, maybe he still can. I think the sound won't travel well if it's just him vibrating in the air. Anyhow, I'm amazed by how quick he learned how to speak... non-surfacely...

Speakers do quite well by just vibrating in the air. Our vocal chords use flowing air to generate vibrations because our muscles are not capable of generating them on their own, but Shadow has never had such limitations. His volume is limited only by the amount of energy he's able to put into his vibrations, which is an unknown quantity (but given that people can hear him just fine, I'd guess it's not an issue).

Hm, yeah. Didn't think of it that way. You're probably right.

Nearly all baby herbivores (or even all, take your pick, I'm referring to hoofed mammals here) can walk and even run within an hour of birth. Although they have the advantage of being quadrupedal. He's certainly smart enough to figure it out and he's been shown as having legs before, so it's not like he suddendly has legs where there were none before,

Yeah, but they've evolved to do that. Here we are talking about somebody who's moving in a way never before accomplished by his species.

Can't help but see those as stink lines around Shadow.
