What do you mean, they've got a swimming pool and stuff! (Actually i know exactly what you mean, it looks gloomy like hell) Also, totally not a swimming pool. I'm assuming you know that, but just making sure. (waits for water tentacle to pop up and start sniffing around for nukes)

Annie has so much more personality! I mean, she had personality before, but now it's happy personality! "I have no idea what this thing does."

I'm hoping Court students are allowed to decorate their rooms? Those dorms would be extremely depressing to live in if you couldn't at least put some posters up and get some colourful things in...
*stares around own dorm room which is running out of wall space because she has so many pictures and notes and posters*

"I'm glad you were safe with her"
..can be read two ways at least...
1# "I'm glad you were safe with her" because she might have killed you and stolen your name but instead, you were safe.
or
2# "I'm glad you were safe with her" because she could protect you from the rest of the court because she is very powerful.
I"m thinking 2 is correct. Rey seemed worried she was going to steal stuff but she's still just 'interesting company'

Regarding the mystery of Jones, I am entirely happy if the "mystery" of Jones is never revealed. Maintaining some mysteries adds to the story. Lots of fun hints are good, though.

I'm surprised no one has suggested any theories as to what 'SRZ6' could mean. (Admit it, you Googled it didn't you.)
Also glad Tom didn't just dump out what Jones is on this page, though I do hope to find out eventually.
I see this chapter going one of two ways:
1. Kat returns, is angry, and most of the chapter is spent resolving this (perhaps with some flashbacks to the forest summer).
2. Kat returns, isn't really angry, and they get back to business (making a robot, freeing a Jeanne, etc.)

"Ysengrin explained what she is to me."
What she IS TO Annnie? I'm not a native speaker of English, so I might be mistaken, but the only context of this phrasing I know of is when it comes to familial relations. Are Annie and Jones related?!

Sorry for the double post, I can't find the edit-button. Just as I hit post, I realised that Annie propably says that Ysengrin explained to her what Jones is. So, please don't mind me sitting in my corner. Very quietly and blushing.

I'm a native speaker of English and I still puzzled a bit before deciding which meaning to use. It's a really awkward sentence grammatically.

I agree with the dorms being a bit gloomy, what it really needs is some beautiful fish outside, maybe a coral reef, but we know that isn't happening with the Court.
For a second I thought szr6 meant seriously, but not sure if that would be spelled with an 8 or something.
Also a google of srz6 comes up with a Yamaha SRZ 660 motorcycle. Plus a bunch of other miscellaneous stuff including a nematode gene.
Alternatively, the SRZ6 could just be Annie messing around with the console and the computer is just repeating what was typed.

However, I don't have an issue with the sentence's grammar because, well...that's how people talk. Regarding Jones, I'm sure we'll find out eventually, although it may be several story arcs later. And I'm okay with that. As much as I squeed when Annie said that, I will also miss the constant "Is Jones a robot?" speculation.

Yea, bummer on Tom saying Annie knows what Jones is now and now we know that Renard already knows what Jones is for sure.
That sentence was kind of redundant wasn't it?
Anyhow, I also hope we'll find out eventually, but at least we have a new source of where that info could come from.

Every once in a while, while reading this comic, I feel the need to shake my fist in the air, throw my head back and shout, "JOOOOOOONES!" This is one of those times. I'm surprised no one has suggested any theories as to what 'SRZ6' could mean. Yeah, I wondered about that for a second, but I think it's just random stuff that Annie's typing in because she has no idea what that thing is.

I still want "Jones: Not a Robot" on a shirt.
Also, I hope Annie and Kat talk about what Jones is, so we can find out... but I somehow doubt Tom will do that. We've had quite a few questions/plot building elements introduced as of late.

I hate it when Tom does things like this. I love it when Tom does things like this. I am a masochist in that way. Also, any form of exposition will most likely be to either Kat or Parley/Andrew.

Haha, nice one on Tom's part. While I would've loved just a page or two spilling the beans on Jones, sprinkling little hints as the story moves forward will probably be more fun.
Also, SRZ 6 = Submarine Residential Zone 6? And that pool of water looks like it may be the place a submersible enters said dorm, sort of like a beaver's dam.

You know what, I think you've hit right on it. I did think that SRZ6 would be Submarine something Zone 6 but couldn't quite connect what the R would be. I agree with the fact that it looks like a submarine airlock of some kind. So, on monday I bet we'll be seeing a submarine taxi of some kind come up and there will be Kat.

I think the dorms are cool, but definitely could use some color. I'm reminded more of the Abyss than anything, and while very industrial, that environment didn't really put me off much. I see I'm not the only one to get the joke, as zylonbane's joke about water tentacles sniffing for nukes indicates. Also it just occurred to me that an underwater dorm is an ideal place to stick a girl with fire-elemental powers that she's still learning to control - should they go crazy for some reason, at least the water would contain them somewhat.

Until we know whether it's daytime on the surface or not, we don't know for sure whether they are so far down that it would be pitch black without the lights or whether there is faint light. In any case,if they are in the 'twilight zone' (650 to 3500 feet) area, the dorms would have to withstand the pressures at depth.

Regarding the mystery of Jones, it's interesting that Ysengrin knew even though Reynardine doubted Coyote " could answer that" How sure are you that Ysengrim actually knew what he was talking about? Does he strike you as someone who would admit to being clueless about someone who can casually walk from Court to Forest and threaten Coyote - and get away with it? (I am not at all certain that Jones was threatening Coyote. But I am quite certain that Ysengrim would interpret her words in that way.) Or would he go off on an explanation that sounds impressive as long as you don't actually examine it for meaning?
