Aww... I really wanted to see more of the Forest and have a summer chapter. oh well it is called Gunnerkrigg Court. so I guess we don't get to see much of the forest or it's in habitants. Maybe Annie will tell us and Kat through flash back? ?? Hint hint???

Unrelatedly, I went to a Convention this past weekend and saw someone cos-playing as Annie. This made me very happy. Did you get pictures?

Well that's... enigmatic. And the start of another school year? I guess that makes sense given the City Face and all, but it kinda took me off guard. So I'm assuming she spent all summer in the forest? I wonder if we'll see any changes to her personality. Maybe she became a hippy! Okay maybe not. obviously she'll come back with Coyote's head as a cap and Y's arm as a back scratcher

Are we really so sure that "she" is Annie? Maybe "she" is Surma, and this will be another flashback chapter. Or maybe "she" will be Jones, taking it upon herself to be Annie's replacement in all activities during the summer--including taking a fabulous vacation trip with Kat!

With pictures of her stoic self along with Kat in front of beautiful landscapes!
On another note, I think that Coyote's bind is meant to be a long term thing... like "remember readers, Coyote still cares about his tooth"; but picturing Annie with a hook instead of a hand is sure funny.

Watch as the next few pages end up giving Annie her father's camera shyness, just to tease us. ;D

is that a dandelion? not sure if this is a stretch and i'm not particularly familiar with any of that .. flower symbolism stuff associated to dandelions but.. a quick search turned up mostly positive things such as good luck, happiness and wishes coming true (not sure if that last one's just for the seed ones though) hm.

Watch as the next few pages end up giving Annie her father's camera shyness, just to tease us. ;D This is honestly what I am expecting. (sob) In fact, thinking about it now, it would be...weird for us to go back to Annie after that. Sure she's the main character and I'm sure we'll be back to her next chapter or so, but considering she just spent a summer in the forest and the last chapter's reveals probably changed some part of her personality, going to her again would be like missing a huge chunk of the story, which will probably be dealt with in flashbacks but whatever. I think we'll be going to Kat and Renard, or if we don't want a tension-filled shift to Jack or...somebody else, maybe Mort even. The latter two probably have no clue where's she's been, it would be interesting. EDIT: Or: Eglamore/Jones/some other teacher going to get Annie from the wood. With Ysengrin telling them to take good care of her or something, because c'mon, they have to have bonded. (man I am going crazy with the terrible speculation here somebody please shoot me now)

hi hi
Dandelions are a strange thing kind of like rabbits, some places people like them, but where I come from they are a vile invasive species that people go to great lengths to poison or otherwise eradicate by any means necessary.
I'm betting Annie won't have a huge, long term personality shift. Something like that ought to happen on camera, otherwise it would just feel like part of the story is missing.

I wonder if that shot is actually the edge of the bridge. In www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=501 we can see that the edge is blocky and overgrown. I looked around at the previous chapter openings and they generally have a bit of symbolism or showing what's coming, but not always and in a pretty subtle way, so if there is any symbolism or foreshadowing, it's very small.

I'm sure it's the end of the bridge. Which end is unclear: as can be seen from 808, both ends look the same.

Man, Antimony wasn't too hot about Gunnerkrigg Court already. I can't imagine her taking things any better now that she's seen the other side.

I'm sure it's the end of the bridge. Which end is unclear: as can be seen from 808, both ends look the same. It seems to me that this is the Gillitie end of the bridge; the cement-to-grass seems to symbolize Annie's reunion with the Court. Also, officially de-lurked.

Man, Antimony wasn't too hot about Gunnerkrigg Court already. I can't imagine her taking things any better now that she's seen the other side. It's possible that Gillitie didn't live up to her expectations either, in which case Annie may be a bit more understanding towards the Court.

Her perspective on the relationship between the court and the forest will definetly have been altered by the experience one way or another.

Makes me wonder if this chapter title is explicitly referring to Antimony. I agree, I think there's a good chance that the "she" is somebody else, possibly Jeanne (or someone new?) Maybe a female "god"-type character -- Reynard, Coyote, and Ysengrin are all male. By the way, I'm new here, so hello world!

Can we have this chapter start off like Chapter 14 did? That would be so aces. Tom would never do it, but nonetheless:
"Two interesting things happened on this day. The first was the start of a new school year. And the second was when a fire elemental emerged from Gillitie Wood. We'll come to the latter in a moment"
