Right now I'm prepared to call Jones God. She have to appear only one or two more times, and we Jones worshippers will win! ;D Hmm... Juliette... I wonder if the ' bot's name is something like R0-M30(Romeo) think about the children!! Tom just wrote "those two have been friends", and it's already about the children. In these two cases tvtropes merely uses terminology that has existed a long LONG time. I know you know this so I'm just saying it in case anyone else here doesn't. Specifically, the name "Chekhov's Gun" refers to the Russian physician and writer Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, who died in 1904. Possibly his first reference to a firearm in this context was in 1889: "One must not put a loaded rifle on the stage if no one is thinking of firing it." The same principle has a much longer history, but apparently was not previously so neatly, clearly, and memorably stated by anyone noteworthy.
