...that's odd.
There was a different thread for this strip a few seconds ago; the author must have deleted it.
On topic: Looks like Annie and Zimmy both agree that they should have acted sooner. It is most excellent that they've learned from their mistakes.

I only saw yours as well, Max.
sue911, your link is wrong, you need to link to the actual page number, not index2.php.

Psst, the link should be to the page and not the front page, for archiving purposes.
Heh, that's so sweet. Good to see Zimmy doesn't have the upper hand all the time.

Hee. Zimmy goes off to hold hands with Gamma, is psychically scolded and made to apologize. They remain adorable together. She helps keep Zimmy sane AND is her moral compass.
This the first time we've seen Zimmy talk when she was 'normal'? The last time, it was as the effect was wearing off, when she wanted to stomp spiders in the library, wasn't it?
Welp. Spider stomped. Or... crushed, in any case.

So Jack has been forced to stay awake like Zimmy and is now tired. If people ever cure Zimmy, she's going to be out for a week

Wow, they both admitted they messed up something fierce.
Now, when are Jones and Rey going to go throw the door and onto the roof? When Zimmy and Gamma step out of it?

Today's page is most refreshing. I don't really expect Jones to show up, any time soon. If she does, it'll probably be just to retrieve the kid. Reynard is another matter. I can see Jones asking him to go to Annie and help her transport Jack to the Court's medical folk, then slipping away from Antimony to look for her, later. I'm glad to know Jack will be alright.

Panel 5 Gamma is the best face Tom has ever drawn.
Also, Jack hasn't slept since he was first infested. Does all that accumulated not-sleeping come on him at once? Yeesh, he ought to be, like, dead or something.

That's weird ... Before reading panel 6, I really thought Gamma was jaleous, as Zimmy is most of the time ... After more consideration, Gamma doesn't needs Zimmy to stay alive, so it's normal that she isn't possessive.
Whatever. Glad to see Jack back.

wow. I think that's the most angry I've ever seen Gamma. somehow, I find that to be awesome.
=
also, I read something about accumulative sleep debt before. there's no real conclusive scientific consensus on this, but it seems that there's no easy way to gain back lost sleep time. all Jack can do is get a good, healthy eight hours rest, and when his body forces him to wake up, he'll still be tired/jetlagged for a while. so, Zimmy is ultimately correct, but getting back to "normal" won't be fun.

Wow, they both admitted they messed up something fierce. Well Zimmy, definitely. She sounds like she's had to do this sort of thing before, or just inherently knows how to deal with her psyche's collateral damage. And then admitting she should have helped him sooner... As far as Annie, it's not like Jack was making it easy for anyone to help him. Should she have tried to take the spider off back in Residential? Should she have reported him to the authorities? Jones??? Then the next time we see him is in Spring Heeled. She had the opportunity to report him after the note-passing incident. At best he probably would have ended up festering in jail. But in the end, it seems the best way to help him was to get him to lower his guard, much as what happened here. Any other overt approach, e.g. "Jack, you need help, let me help you!", would scare him off.

I can't remember which comic he commented on, but Tom once said he shipped shutXup in response to all the other ships such as AnnieXKat or AnnieXJack.

Hmm. Zimmy's eyes are lasting well after the rain, this time.
Not your fault, Annie. You had no way of knowing if you could safely remove the spider. And for that matter, until you'd learned more about handling your etheric self, you probably couldn't have done anything about it anyway.

Check Tom's comment under this comic, and click the . I laughed my head off at that aside, and couldn't help adopting it. Nothing like a wry nickname to remind one that shipping isn't, really, especially serious business. ♥

I'm so proud of Gamma here. I think it's the first time we've really seen her step up. And Tobu Ishi, your picture is precious.

Yeesh, he ought to be, like, dead or something. Is that the best face that Tom has ever drawn, or is the face in this comic's panel 6 the best face that Tom has ever drawn? Well, Jack DID collapse rather earnestly. Who can say how staying awake for however long (I'm not sure of the time scale, here, but I'm guessing about a month or two) with an ethereal spider tugging your strings would affect you? Probably only Tom.

Also: regardless of Gunner-reality, that picture is quite lovely, Tobu.
As an aside, I get a kick out of your 'Doom House' avatar, as well.
