 GKCFP: Vocal Auditions 3.0
« Thread Started on Feb 24, 2012, 11:36pm »

Auditioning for Vocal Parts:

1) Feel free to audition for any part you want. Post a link to your audition in the thread. I will add the link after the character's name in this post. If you want it to be uploaded to TheGKCFanProject Youtube account, please contact me to get it uploaded. If you prefer another format or service, just post the link.

2) Auditions are open for all characters that have not been voted on yet, but emphasis will be on the chapter in production. At the close of that chapter's audition, the performances will be linked and voted upon for 2 weeks.

3) Actors voicing recurring characters, and winners of old auditions, will be PMd at the beginning of production for each chapter to confirm their continued interest in the role. If they turn down the role, or do not reply to the PM within 2 weeks, that role will be reopened for auditions.

4) Each chapter's auditions will close as the production schedule requires it. I will try to post at least two weeks warning before a chapter's auditions close.

5) Don't worry if there's already a lot of auditions for a part you want! It's always worth a shot. Also, don't forget that you can audition for more than one part, in case you don't get the one you were hoping for!

6) If you post an audition but then re-record it and want your new audition considered instead, just let me know (you can post a replacement request here, but if you PM me, I’m less likely to miss it) and I'll remove the old link and add the new one. You can also make multiple auditions for the same role, if you want both versions considered.

7) You can add visuals and music to your audition. However, please make sure that it doesn’t distract from your voice, which is what we’re voting on.

8) Below I will list first the roles that need to be filled for the chapter currently in production, then below that any later roles that have already been auditioned for.

9) Bit parts are indicated with asterisks (*) below. Perhaps if you’re too shy for a larger part, or not really sure how much you want to participate, you could give these a try, although of course everyone is welcome to audition for all roles! And if a bit part becomes important later you will be completely free to reevaluate your participation.

10) If you have any feedback, comments, or concerns about any part of this process, please post a comment or send me a PM telling me so. This is for you guys, the readers, and if you think the process can be improved, please let me know.

Aside from Chapter In Production, all previously-chosen roles are listed in the Cast List. Bear in mind they may change over time.

Hm, are you sure that is all of it? I thought I saw other auditions more recent then last sumer that don't appear on this list. (Also one other voice attempt of mine is missing)

[insert Boring Mythology Teacher attempt here later]

I thought I got them all, which ones did I miss? There was one from Wyrmy last May, but he hasn't even been on the forum since last August so I didn't see much point in linking that.

We still need a Tea. Anyone interested?

I'll record a few lines tonight with my laptop's built-in mic (got nothing higher quality out here at work with me, sorry.) I make no promises on the quality of my accent-faking.

EDIT:

Alright here we go.

American version. (My natural speaking voice, Seattle northwest accent.)

British version? (Best attempt at a nondescript British accent.)

Dialogue from this page.

(I sincerely apologize if my fake-brit has offended anyone's nationality.)

Pretty much! I will need to run voting for the Boring Mythology Teacher and between Basser's two Tea auditions, but the rest I am happy to take as is. I will set up the voting very soon.

I found your Admin Bot audition, Zolen. Sorry I missed that first time round!

Rasselas and Goliath, your auditions covered all the chapter dialogue for your characters and are good enough to use as they are. However if you want to try the dialogue again, maybe you feel like you can improve on your audition, then please feel free to send me another copy. Just PM me and I'll give you the Project e-mail address.

Everyone please click here to see your options, then PM me your votes.

You have 2 weeks.

...Hi, um...

I assume this is where we post auditions. Seems to be the most recent thread.

Here's one for Coyote.

Audacity makes it easy! All you do is record your voice, then make a new track with the voice pitched slightly lower, then another track with the pitch slightly higher, then play them all together. It creates the several-voices-speaking-at-once effect I figured was appropos for Coyote.
