Nothing like a little Kat to take the edge off a serious story arc.

Also, I've never heard of Sharklenhorse. Are they new? I'm fairly certain it says Sparklehorse. Edit: Incidentally, Sparklehorse's lead singer committed suicide 2 months ago, which might coincide with the weekend that Tom drew this page. Or it might not. I don't know.

I don't know. Possible Funny Aneurysm Moment? Anyways, I like Sharklenhorse better. Half shark. Half horse. All hero.

Must have been a tribute to Mark Linkous. Nothing is that coincidental.

Sparklehorse!
Tom you are such a tease. I swear, I was totally hoping there wouldn't be a bonus page today just so I could find out what happened sooner to Annie and Rey..., as wonderful as the extras are.

I only know Sparklehorse from their cover of that one Nightmare Before Christmas song.
I really very so much want to see the next chapter and I bet Tom's going to draw this out as much as possible.

It would be pretty funny if it said '3 seconds later' or something. It's the 0 that catapults it into hilariousness. There was literally not time gap between the 3rd and 4th panels. She fells asleep and started drooling before she could even finish saying the word 'doing.'
And that's just fantastic.

Let's hope that Monday's page will be the title page of Chapter Twenty-eight and not Tea announcing another two weeks of sabbatical (though if that were coming, Tea would be saying it on today's page).

Good point.
(If Annie *does* get expelled - even temporarily - over the power station incident, I can't help wondering how Kat's going to take the news, especially so soon after her discovery of the Court's dark secret regarding Jeanne. I don't think the results would be good - except for maybe the local child therapist's bank account.)

Awwwww... Nothing makes a breather in a weird adventure like a bit of wacky cuteness... or cute wackiness.

Something interesting from that wiki page: ...not to mention his album "Good Morning Spider." Coincidence? Or ultra-subtle reference?

Heheh. Kat, you're awesome. Hmm. I wonder if the next chapter's gonna be from Annie's perspective, or Kat's, trying to find out what happened to Annie. I've got horrible imaginings that the school year's going to come to an end and Kat'll still be looking for her

I don't know - no matter how desperate the Court faculty will be about handling the situation, I don't think that Anja, Donald, and Eglamore will want to put Kat through that. They'll have to tell her something - and something more substantial than "We sent her and Reynardine to a farm where they could play with the dogs living there".

I really hope the next chapter goes further where this one ended, I don't want a flashback, or a chapter about some person that isn't really important at this moment. Because that would mean we have to wait even longer.

Because that would mean we have to wait even longer. 'Why did you put "to be continued" at the end of this chapter when you normally don't? Is it because there's normally a time lapse in between chapters and this time, the next chapter will follow pretty immediately?' yupSo the next chapter won't be a flashback or flash forward at least.

It's probably the lighting. I know I look pretty bad under flourescent lighting.
Not under compact flourescent, though, oddly enough.

So the next chapter won't be a flashback or flash forward at least. Thank goodness. The only other time a chapter ended on a cliffhanger (Chapter Seven) we immediately went on to Chapter Eight (the only time that a chapter ending with a Treatise Page wasn't followed by two weeks of working sabbatical - I don't think that even the most patient of readers would have enjoyed that after we saw Annie falling off the bridge, no matter how good the sabbatical comics might have been). The other two "ending with Treatise Page" chapters (Fourteen and Twenty-two) both ended on lulls, where we could afford to take the break.
