Isn't this how all good first dates start? A boat ride to an old secluded power station in the middle of the night?

Well, that should be interesting. It seems dangerous.

Hm, no life jacket? Inflatable boat seems a smart choice, though.

A boat and someone named Jack?
I hope the Court doesn't have any icebergs.

This is going to be a cool chapter.
Like all the other chapters.
Tom! You should mix it up. All of your chapters are all the same! They're all cool! It's sort of getting boring, knowing what to expect like that. Maybe you should throw us for a loop by putting in a really boring chapter about how Annie finds an interesting non-fiction book in the Court library!

The way I hear Jack in my head, what with his laugh and all, I can't help but think PSYCHOTIC AXE KILLER.
And Annie is walking blindly into his trap D:

Have we considered that one of the side effects of having a magic spider on your face could be a permanent sugar high? I'm just going by the cackling, the leaping around and the crazed grin here.
That would actually be a pretty good way to capture Annie. Charge blindly into your own trap while laughing like a maniac and watch her follow you going "oh, a mystery! I will investigate it" or the 'I have business to attend to' translation of those words. Curiosity trapped the medium.

Man this chapter is freaking me out. It really seems like something bad is going to happen shortly...
On a lighter note I love the detail in this page. You can actually see how he built the bridge!

I'm not quite understanding what Tom meant in his page note: "Don't let Jack see you like that, Reynardine!" Is it because he needs to keep that identity secret somehow?

Minor quibble: If Annie were really to slide 13 stories down that rope, her hands would be burned and bleeding due to the friction.

You can see the knots in the rope. She's climbing down.

Looks like Jack's got some sort of commando raid in mind. I'm betting we'll be seeing some unethical super-science experiments and also the people who were after Jack previously.

A boat and someone named Jack? I hope the Court doesn't have any icebergs. haha! Oh dear. I love Annie's hair when she's climbing across! Jack looks ca-razy, per usual. Reynardine's face when he's hanging onto Annie's neck is priceless. Basically, this page is wonderful.

Jack has only seen Reynardine as a big scary wolf with sharp, pointy teeth. Seeing him as a cuddly toy might ruin the deterrent effect. I think that's what he's referring to. Also, I love Annie's annoyed expression as she's crawling along the bridge.

Love the creaking bridge and the wind in Annie's hair. Great effects.
Annie is clearly beginning to have second thoughts. She came here to help Jack sort out his spider problem, not engage in infiltration exercises. And DEFINITELY not to go climbing over buildings and swimming lakes.
A good thing she's so used to sneaking around the court already.

I think Jack knows that Reynardine can get smaller, because he build nothing to lower a big wolf. I don not think he expected Annie to climb down with a big wolf on her shoulders.

I think Jack knows that Reynardine can get smaller, because he build nothing to lower a big wolf. I don not think he expected Annie to climb down with a big wolf on her shoulders. Perhaps, but then that would make Tom's comment at the bottom make less sense. I think it's more likely that either Jack in his manic state didn't really think about how "the wolf" was going to get down, or, Tom didn't think about how Jack planned for the wolf to get down, only how he (Tom) planned for Rey to get down. With the level of attention to detail Tom consistently puts in every page, I'm more than willing to overlook it if he missed considering every possible ramification of Jack's "plan". In looking at how Jack haphazardly built the bridge (with the emphasis on "hazard") I think it's more than reasonable to assume that he doesn't have this planned to the nth detail.

The bridge doesn't look haphazard to me at all. It looks really well constructed.

Okay.
Hence the "rattle" and "creak" that Tom put into the current comic.

Well, as long as it creaks it holds ;D (I don't know if that's a common saying in other languages than Danish).

I wonder whether or not Annie will get into the boat without an explanation of some sort from Jack. I sure as heck wouldn't.

I, too, vote thumbs up for Jack's bridge engineering. Looks like a sturdy aluminum ladder, two thick planks for comfort, and well-braced suspension cables to keep the middle from sagging.
As for Jack himself:
He is no danger to Annie, though he is her guide into danger. He bears her no ill-will; he's turning to her for help.
Jack thinks Annie needs to see what he has to show her, he thinks it's important, he thinks she can free him from whatever it is that's possessed him.
And I think he's right, and I trust Annie.
Also, I love how Reynardine carried Annie on his back earlier, and now she carries him.

So do you guys think:
A) That Jack has already been to the Power Station, and there's something there that he wants Annie to see, or
B) That he hasn't been to the Power Station, and he wanted Annie to be along when he went for the first time.

Latter is my first notion, but I wouldn't be surprised by the former. I think it's a little assumptive for any of us to state what Jack is thinking here.

I don't think Tom's comment to Reynardine should be taken so literally. It doesn't seem like he's saying "Reynardine, you mustn't be seen or all hope is lost!" as much as "Reynardine, you probably don't want this guy to see you holding on to a girls neck to avoid falling off."
