[695]Yeah, I figured it'd be something like that. I wonder why he wants Rey there? Really lovin' Kat's hair, Tom.

I think Kat likes Jack (romantically or platonically), but is disappointed that, in her perception, he is a creep.

I wonder why Annie was so quick to defend Zimmy. I mean, it's obvious she developed some sympathies for her in the few times they've interacted, but I was surprised by this.

Seconding the praise for Kat's new look.
Also, it's amazing how far Annie has come, since her first arrival at GkC, in terms of expressing a full emotional range Look at her appearances in today's strip; you'll see a different expression in each one, and the last two expressions in particular are ones that can't be summed up in one pat word each.

Well, Annie is a medium, it is natural for her to defend those affected with some etheric condition. Kat is being a bit mean, maybe she really can't stand most things etheric.

I think Kat is holding a grudge against Jack for that Ice Queen comment back in Residential.

I wonder if he's been trying to get back there on his own ever since the first time... Maybe he thinks Annie can take him there?

Hmm. The note doesn't say anything about Antimony coming alone. Actually, "Bring the wolf" is the opposite of that. I guess that Kat assumes Jack meant for Antimony to come alone because she is assuming the meet is romantic in nature?
I can't help but believe that if I'd passed a similar note in high school under the same circumstances that the girl invited would bring at least two friends, and half the other girls in the class would be hiding nearby watching.
Also, from the way the note is written I wonder if "Bring the wolf" was an afterthought to make Antimony more likely to show up.

Hm, at least Rey's there to protect her... or has Jack found a way to foil him?

I guess that Kat assumes Jack meant for Antimony to come alone because she is assuming the meet is romantic in nature? Given Jack's arguably malevolent behavior toward the two of them, and the fact that he pretty much is etherically tainted in one fashion or another, I doubt very much that Kat believes his attentions to be amorous. More likely she is just extrapolating from the fact that he didn't request anyone else (human). Well, maybe. But you didn't have paranormal spiders crawling around in your head. (Or the girl wouldn't have known you did, anyway.) Given that I was a bit of an outcast, myself, I imagine any note that I passed to a girl would have been discarded with a combination of laughter and revulsion; this is probably what Jack should have suspected.

I think Kat likes Jack (romantically or platonically), but is disappointed that, in her perception, he is a creep. I was thinking this as well. They seemed to hit it off a bit in Power Station, but it was disrupted by Jack's becoming a bit freaky.

I wonder if it's floor 13, or 113? Also - I'll wager a nickel Jack arrives at the rendezvous using the *outside* of the building. Any takers?

So I guess he's found something out about the powerplant...
Also Kat really needs a haircut. I really liked her short style. In either case she really needs to cut her bangs, it's so annoying when they're in your face like that.

I could imagine Jack having grown somewhat paranoid, so I'm halfway expecting him to be hiding somewhere when Annie arrives. Hmm, 13th floor. Is that just for dramatic effect, or does Jack have a more practical reason for that choice? Edit: Wait, they took time to change their clothes before reading the note? -or maybe they are just reading it again

I'm curious, I wonder how many people know about Rey or at least that Annie appears to have a wolf. I guess after Coyote visited some gossip got around, plus the time he scared those kids. Still that Jack knows and apparently has some plan involving him... Jack certainly is smart cookie. He is a bit techy and a bit "supernatural-e", what a combination. Well, Annie is a medium, it is natural for her to defend those affected with some etheric condition. Kat is being a bit mean, maybe she really can't stand most things etheric. I think it could also be because she wasn't pulled into Zimmy's world and wouldn't know how bad things might have been for Jack there. Even with whatever Annie have told her Kat might not think it was enough to forgive Jack for being a bit jerkish (even if it was some sort of ethereal spider/taint behind it.) Hmmm, good idea, that would make sense.

I like that Annie was defending Zimmy, obviously the times that she spent with her (under the rain, stuck in her mind with the faceless people) really made her sympathize with her.
I'm surprise Kat hasn't cut her hair yet. You would think that someone who works with machinery all the time would want to keep their hair short in order to keep it out of the way.
ALSO: DON'T TRUST HIM ANNIE. IT'S A TRAP. LOOK BEHIND YO-
Oh wait. That doesn't make sense.

I dunno, 'Bring the Wolf' sounds more like a demand than a request. If it was just to reassure here, it seems more like he would put 'You can bring the wolf'.
Then again, I haven't got Etheric spiders making nests in my brain...

Not necessarily. If he only had a short time to write the note, he may have just quickly wrote down all of the needed details without taking the time to make it sound nice.
In the first panel Kat tells her not to go, and in the second Annie says that jack told her she could bring Ren, so it would seem that Annie at the least thinks that he was inviting Ren to come along so that she wouldn't be alone.

Seconding Shadrach: the expressions in this strip are amazing.
Annie can't go without Kat at all, can she? She needs Kat to get her out of the dorms. So she's got to talk Kat round.
Unless Annie's new blinker trick can take care of that.
Headscarves and ponytails.
I like Kat's hair. I hope it gets even longer so we get pretty curly Kat hair, like in those beautiful flashbacks we had a while ago. :3

Yeah, I figured it'd be something like that. I wonder why he wants Rey there? I have two guesses: 1) he can scare away those spiders 2) he can scare monitors Really lovin' Kat's hair, Tom. One... two... Awwww! I think Kat likes Jack (romantically or platonically), but is disappointed that, in her perception, he is a creep. Also, from the way the note is written I wonder if "Bring the wolf" was an afterthought to make Antimony more likely to show up. Quite possible, too. I guess after Coyote visited some gossip got around, plus the time he scared those kids. Still that Jack knows and apparently has some plan involving him... I suspect few students know about Coyote's visit (or existence). Incident with "hecklers" team could spawn a rumour, of course. But Jack knows it from personal experience anyway.

I wonder why Annie was so quick to defend Zimmy. I mean, it's obvious she developed some sympathies for her in the few times they've interacted, but I was surprised by this. Annie's one of the few who knows that Zimmy suffers deeply and is terrified by her "gift", and that Zimmy is only a bitch to everyone because she doesn't want to lose her only trusted friend in the world. Plus y'know, Annie's just nice like that EDIT: Also, is Kat's huffiness an excuse for her not to be in a storyline, or a setup for her to be in a storyline where she has to accept that Jack's actually an okay guy? Or possibly the setup for Jack and Kat hating each other until a burning love develops (but I'm not rating this last one as very likely)?

As it turns out, Annie never got out of Zimmingham in Power Station at all and the last eight chapters were all a hallucination. It would explain how she could touch the moon, and why Coyote can bend like no thing of nature. . . Next chapter she's going to set on a quest to find the edge of the court.

Another thing that strikes me about today's strip: Reynardine, although in "talking plushie" mode, is speaking not like a cantankerous smartass, as he's usually done while in that mode, but more like the way he does when he's in "noble wolf guardian" form. I don't recall: is this the first time that's happened?
