He's tree-ting her better... okay I think I'm scraping the bottom now. Maple it's because he swore an oak to Coyote, but Fire-Hair-Girl is no longer such acorn in his side. He won't likely pine for her return, but at least he knows her birch of etiquette was just his master's trick. "See yew soon, indeed" Ysengrin thought. "At least she won't see mahogany more fish."D (What? I'm not proud.)

Of all the things we could pun about, it always comes back to trees.

If it weren't for the artwork, I might have enjoyed these puns more than the page.

A rather uneventful page. But it was diplomatic of Coyote to not have Eglamore see Ysengrim carrying Annie. I think that wood rasp on poor Eggy's nerves.

hrmf indeed. Yssy probably resents that he's beginning to seed eye to eye with Annie.
If anyone can come up with a pun relating to xylem and phloem, we may be forced to crown them the ultimate punmaster.

That was a very intimate gesture by Annie. This page may not have loads going on but I really like it. Nothing keeps Annie frightened! (No pun intended.)

Then I say we should at least branch out a bit in our puns. ...bollocks.

May I mention the suspicion I've been holding, ever since we knew that Jeanne was pining for someone in the forest...
...that that someone was Ysengrin?

Did anyone else notice that Ysengrin was not shaking? Oh, that makes me wonder if Annie's abilities have an effect on him. You know, the way Zimmy said it affects her. Makes things better. Or maybe he just felt calmer now.

Not everything has to be interconnected that thoroughly in the Gunnerverse.
I think it'd make more sense if Zimmy's abilities came from some completely different direction. It makes the universe feel bigger if not all paths lead back to Coyote. It's something I've learned about the universes that work, that keep pulling people in: Star Trek, Star Wars, Babylon 5, The Matrix, etc. They always feel bigger than their setting via the use of little details that indicate things beyond the scope of the movie's or series' storytelling.
One thing I have seen that Tom is excellent at, is those little hints in the Gunnerverse - be it a hint of technical research like Kat resetting the motion sensors, the depth of the mystery surrounding Jeanne and the robots, or the diversity of the Guides that Annie can communicate with. All of these hint at a bigger world than what we "see" in the comics.
As for Ys and Annie, it's good to see the two developing a sort of dialogue or relationship. I think in a sense once Ys realized Coyote pranks her as much as he does him, he probably didn't blame Annie as much for her behavior. Besides, she didn't outright spank Coyote on Court grouds this time, nor did she bring Eglamore into the Wood. It gives him a chance to deal with her on his own terms, rather than with other humans around.

Loved this chapter (well, I love every chapter), especially for the Ysengrin insight, more blinker stone using (yay!) and beautiful aether art.
Also, I'm guessing that Jones will comment on how Annie coming along as a medium now that she's friends with Ysenny too.
