Poor Eglamore. She's a strong willed girl and he can't really do anything about it.

Haha, Oh wow! I love Cayote so much. And it's so cute, it looks like Annie and him are going on a date to Dad's displeasure. XD

It had crossed my mind, but I dismissed the idea. Darn, that's one cookie I'll never get. So do you think Coyote took this shape, or possessed a real elf? We know he can do this without harming his host when he leaves.

Poor Eglamore. She's a strong willed girl and he can't really do anything about it. And they are totally gonna get married!

Coyote comes to collect Annie himself. That must be a big honor.

I love Annie's expression, and I want Eglamore's face in that last pannel as an icon! wonderful page!

I'm surprised - where is Annie's usual skepticism? All encounters with Coyote so far started out nice but nonetheless had a disappointing ending. Must be coyote's charm.

Just noticed this... Could just be detail, but I'm wondering what the mark under Egger's eye is. At first I assumed it was just his chiseled features, and it still could be, but tom draws it in the same way any panel. Hmm. Oh well, could just be the art I guess

Hah! Why didn't this even occur to me? He's a sly one, that Coyote.
I reckon he's possessed Jolly, rather than turning into him. That panel does look very like all the pictures we saw of animals possessed by Coyote.

Apparently Eg (if that is him) is not worried enough that Annie (if that is her) could fall victim to a fairy mind trick (if that is even a fairy).

As to Jolly being Coyote in another form or an elf that he possessed, I'm not sure. We know Coyote can stretch and contort his own body like Jolly is doing in panel 2, but his eye in panel 3 looks just like the page with all the samples of animals he possessed... One things for sure, if Jolly is a possessed elf, he's going to have one hell of a back ache after that stretch in panel 2. And it's definitely Eggers-- Tom says so in the notes at the bottom of the page.

Should have guessed. When things start to turn into Warner Brothers cartoons, you know Coyote must be around somewhere.

So I've got three things out of this:
One- that's some mighty fine prancing our dear Coyote is partaking in!
Two- On to a slightly more serious note, where is Ysengrin? I wonder if we shouldn't be worried at the conspicuous lack of Chuckles at the greeting party, which leads me to
Three- so uh, when Coyote promised Annie no harm, he never specifically stated whether or not that was a one-time offer to the fire head girl...
This troubles me...

Yeah, I'm hoping she had the foresight to take that beacon with her this time.

In regards to the mark on Eglamore's face: I made a post about this a good long time ago, but it's nearly impossible to read and remember everything that's posted, so here it is again. The last time we see Eglamore's face without the mark is here in Ch 14. He is seen later in the same chapter, fighting with Ysengrin, but his face isn't shown. The next time we see Eglamore's face isn't until here, in Ch 17. From here on, his face shows the mark each time you see him. There are (at least) two possible conclusions that can be drawn from this. One is that something happened in the interim that gave him a mark on his face. The other is that the mark has always been there, and this is part of Tom's redesign of the character. You'll notice that there are a lot of other changes to Eglamore's look throughout the comic, even changing more from Ch 17 til now. I tend to think it's the latter. I like that Tom was willing to update and improve Eglamore's look even though some fans didn't recognize Eglamore and Tom still to this day makes comments to the effect of "This is Eglamore". That amuses me. But anyway, I think he's always had the marks but they just weren't included in the character design early on.

The mark on Eglamore's face is a scar. I was surprised to have Casey point out that it did not appear until Chapter 17. I, too, consider it an artistic evolution and probably not an occurrence between Chapter 14-17. Now the earlier Eglamores look really odd to me.
EDIT: P.S. Another Eglamore punchline expression. I shall have to consider changing my avatar.

I always assumed that the marks on his face were a bunch of little scars or indents from being nicked or him by a blade, but I dunno. I think coyote possessed the little elf guy, because you can only tell by looking at his eyes that it's him, so that's why when he talkes to Eglamore his eyes are closed. But then again the fabulous prancing Coyote could probably make up his own disguise so....

Nice to see Annie coming out of her shock at losing her mother.
Maybe she's overdoing things in the opposite direction a bit.... and what safer occasion for it?
