Holy crap. That's a f**king pilgrimage.
And Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it, and Happy Holidays to those who don't.

I'm not sure if Kat's answer actually helped them at all. Still we have another piece of the puzzle at our disposal.

Merry Christmas, everyone!
Man, my heart is breaking. That's so damn sad. All the robots laying in wait...
Skywatcher better learn Annie's name. For some reason I am faintly offended that she would only be referred to as "her friend."

The basic reason Diego did what he did is simple: Jeannie hurt him, and humans have a tendency to get angry and strike back at what hurt him. The fact that he loved Jeannie only made the hurt worse, and with it the anger. And while he was angry, the hurt wouldn't have been as bad, so he held on to his anger.
That wouldn't have lasted long after her death, though. The pain of rejection would fade too, leaving only guilt.

The bots being instructed to love Jeanne, would have severe problems understanding why the person they call father ultimately destroyed her. Logic does not add up here. Kat, the personification of logic should be the right person to come with an explanation. The Seraph model bots, and Kat being called angel, there must be a connection there.
Merry Xmas from me too!

Merry Christmas all! Indeed, how wonderful to find Tom had left something for us all...and what trouble and intrigue will Kat and Annie get into unraveling this further? Where will Jones fit in? What was done to Jeanette? I love it and can't wait to read more.

Merry Christmas, everyone! Skywatcher better learn Annie's name. For some reason I am faintly offended that she would only be referred to as "her friend." Probably simply a reflection of the fact that this chapter is about Kat and the robots, not about Annie (note that it turns out on this page that Annie isn't even the narrator of this chapter - a true break from tradition - though we haven't seen her narration since Chapter Fifteen). (I've sometimes wondered whether "Gunnerkrigg Court" might be gradually undergoing a protagonist shift, and by the final page, Kat, rather than Annie, will be the lead. I've seen such things before - "The Lord of the Rings", for example, which starts with Frodo as the protagonist but gradually shifts that role to Sam.) Merry Christmas, everyone!

Nice touch, the legend growing into the scene. And again it's downright bewildering how awesome work making Sky Watcher expressive even without obvious tweaks. Holy crap. That's a f**king pilgrimage. Um... Wasn't it pilgrimage even before S13's roof-top proselytizing? And Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it, and Happy Holidays to those who don't. And fireworks for all.

I'm glad we didn't have to see Kat cry. I think that would have made ME cry.

Luckily she left off the part about it being better than being dead this time.

A sad chapter (assuming this is the end). Well done.

It looks like this is becoming part of the court robot oral tradition.

A sad chapter (assuming this is the end). Well done. It apparently isnt' the end, because there isn't an end-of-chapter symbol in the corner. (Anyone know what that symbol is, other than Tom's end-of-chapter symbol?) And how is the horsebot going to go through that low tunnel?

It's the alchemy symbol for Antimony. Same as the one on Rey's head - shows Annie controls him.

The horse robot isn't going inside. Those are all the robots hanging around outside the room waiting to hear the angel's explanation.

I'm glad we didn't have to see Kat cry. I think that would have made ME cry. Weirdly enough, what we got was even more powerful in a way. The narration is exquisite and more is left to the imagination.

Now there are almost 600 comments on the page. I wonder if we can get to 1000 by Monday.
Love is screwy. I wonder what Reynardine will think of this new information. I wonder whether Antimony will tell Reynardine or what she will tell him.

With this page, Sky Watcher has jumped from #51 in the highest word count list to #35. Quite a leap in one strip.

I actually found this to probably be the most heartwrenching page in all of GCdom... It made me cry a little knowing that the robots can feel pain, but not understand why.

It made me cry a little knowing that the robots can feel pain, but not understand why. Um, the same is very true for humans.

You've never cried at the human condition?
In fact, I think fuzzysocks has a point there. It gets to me because the robots are so innocent and earnest, and because they're assuming that their own inadequacy prevents them from understanding, when in fact humanity has wrestled with the issue of love since we started having languages to do it with.

Huh, so here’s something I only thought of just now, although I should have sooner (and people probably already have thought of this)
I wonder how the robots would react if they learned that Jeanne’s ghost still haunts the Annan Waters? Could they comprehend or process the idea of a ghost? Would they see her as the same Jeanne? A god? A fraud, since she is technically not alive so she is not their Jeanne?
Happy Holidays everyone!

It made me cry a little knowing that the robots can feel pain, but not understand why. Um, the same is very true for humans. The difference is is that we have a notion as to why we're sad. Human beings understand the concept of death and life and the time that we are given. We may not understand why people do the things they do, but we understand the concept of love. Robots do not. It's pretty much exactly as idonotlikepeas said.
