[635]I like this guy. I suspect that's Robot talking to him? Or maybe it's just a random court robot spreading the rumors about the Jeanne painting.

Robots come in all shapes and sizes in the Court, it seems. The most burning question in my mind is: why is the climbing robot wearing clothes? Given the thinness of the climbers limbs it must must be a robot, so why the attempt at disguise?

The slow zoom out is a cool touch.
It would be interesting if this entire chapter was from the robots' perspective with no (or minimal) human interaction at all. Most likely not, but hey.

I think its Robot. same speech bubble color. I wondered about the bubble color. You're probably right, and it's Robot in his new body. Still doesn't explain the clothes though.

Jeanne...Jeanne might actually be the titular Angel?
I might actually be...RIGHT about something?!
As for the clothes, they remind me of Kat. I think she's been giving out loaners.

There's a fun catchphrase for you. Or Arc Phrase, whatever.
Angel of Facestabbing, maybe.

I wonder how light that robot is. Or how strong that antenna is.
Perhaps Sky Watcher is analogous to another GC founder, as Seraph 1 was to Diego and Bullbot was to Young.
Which, if so, begs the question: who are the other robots in Diego's stadium, really?

Well the shrine is probably the room with the painting of Jeanne. I think the Angel is either Robot, whose original body has angel wings and is even called Seraph, or Kat, who the robots ask for permission to look at the painting of Jeanne ( www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=509), which might make her someone who watches over it. Or, you know, it could end up being something completely different. Who knows.

Alright, we know who Sky Watcher and The Angel are. With all our questions answered, surely Wednesday's comic will mark the end of the chapter!

I'm surprised no one has started 'shipping Sky Watcher and Hoodie-Bot yet.

Or the Angel is Jeanne.
Say, the title of this thread dissatisfies me ;( "Sky Watcher" is sooo unimaginative and too similar to the previous thread.

As for the clothes: perhaps because he is so often exposed to the elements, SW wears conventional human clothing for protection? You'll notice the wrists and ankles of his outfit are bound. Perhaps to avoid water running through them? EDIT: Yeah, I was thinking the thread title was a bit bland. This is more interesting. EDIT II: What emotion is that? It's like you're saying "I'm sad but, hey, you get it."

I am satisfied.
As for ";(": it is an emotion which states "I am so sad, I don't even have the willpower to press Shift and type a colon instead of a semicolon."

I was thinking an angry man missing an eye, but hey. thor I've been drifting in and out of the community for a little while, but the last time I brought up shipping (a good ways back), I was somewhat soundly chastised. The more I read the various comments the more I see that I am likely wrong, as usual. Ah well. I note that nobody mentions SW's perch. Seems to be a rather large cathedral...didn't Tom mention something in passing a while back about the Court having a church?

If it's Robot then a disguise would make sense, since isn't he not supposed to be up and about? By that measure though it might also make more sense to keep him as a mouse or give him another inconspicuous body.

Perhaps to avoid water running through them? Sky Watcher is the mantis-bot. We don't know the name of the hoodie-wearing bot yet. I note that nobody mentions SW's perch. Seems to be a rather large cathedral...didn't Tom mention something in passing a while back about the Court having a church? Yep.

This chapter reminds me of this song. (Wait past the ads to listen to it.) Also: I haven't got the slightest as to why there's a space between the "t" and "h".

Is that a cathedral in the Court This place just keeps presenting new surprises. Obligatory theorizin' time: The background is shrouded in mist just like in the last chapter, so this one will show what was happening at the Court while the main characters were away camping. On the other hand, maybe the Court is just foggy a lot of the time in winter- it was the same in the flashback at the end of S1. Anyway, I'm excited because there's a good chance we'll get some backstory on Jeanne here. BTW: does Mr.Hoodie guy put anyone in in mind of a robot traceur? (That's someone who does Parkour)

Jeanne, oh Jeanne. I wonder how you spell heartbreak in binary, for after her the phrase certainly seems to have become familiar to all of robotkind.

oo! ... That's all I got. This makes me excited. Edit: As it turns out, I DO have something! We can't necessarily say that's Robot by his speech bubble. It looks like it's a shared robot voice, as looking back at other similar robots and pretty much all other robot models encountered. I'm definitely inclined to think the court robots trend towards a similar universal roboty tone. So there you have it. I'm actually curious that Sky Watcher doesn't have the same voice. It's probably just to tell the two apart though.

Sky Watcher is the mantis-bot. We don't know the name of the hoodie-wearing bot yet. Darn, I was reading the comic as if the humanoid one was Sky Watcher and he was talking with someone on his radio or something. I thought the mantis was just there. Looking at it again, I guess it makes more sense that the mantis is Sky Watcher. But now I'm bummed because I really liked the notion of a humanoid robot that climbed buildings just to gather meteorological data. I'll be thinking about how cool my initial assumption was all through the chapter, ruining it for me. Curses! And I was all set to enjoy this one too.

I like it better when the title of these threads is actually a line from within the comic.
Not that it really matters what I like. But I'm registering my opinion for whatever it's worth. Maybe I just miss Yin.

Sky Watcher has a lonely job, poor guy. Stuck up the top of a cathedral recording the weather. What's he recording it for? What is the data used for? I'm guessing that the Angel is Jeanne. It's quite probable that hoodie-bot is S13, I think the clothes give it away. None of the other robots we've met have worn clothes, and S13 is the only one who has had prolonged contact with a particular set of humans. Plus, as someone mentioned, he's supposed to be paperclips now, although I'm not sure how anyone would be able to tell it's the same robot, he looks completely different (if it is him).

Yay for new characters! I like Sky Watcher and this new robot boy already. I highly doubt new robot boy is S13, I think the making of a new body for Robot is something that has been brought up as important before, and I dont think Tom would just kind of skip over it. Also, I'm kinda holding it for Kat to build S13 an android body. I think word of this Angel is just... spreading around the court by the different robots. Also, I love that the Angel is Jeanne. Of course all the court robots have the memory of her programed into them.
