Anyone care to make predictions about:
a) What the next chapter will be about,
b) What the bonus page will be about (credit goes to Joiz),
c) Whether or not Tom will reveal to us what the problem he predicted people would have with this chapter was, and whether or not it turned out to be the case?

Early comic! That's pleasant. By my estimation, there are roughly forty laser cows around the house.
Bob's got some pretty specific lessons he likes to take!
Why did Tom think we wouldn't like this chapter? It was pretty nice!

Well, if those are all the laser cows they can at least start a fire. That makes it slightly better.

I love how Bob and Marcia seem more impressed by the kids than irritated. Eglamore of course is not amused.
Also, I *would* predict that the bonus comic would be something with Winsbury and Janet reunited, but they've had a few features in this already. So general wild antics, probably.

For some reason, Carver looks really cute in that first panel. Perhaps the lack of eyebrows/forehead (covered by hat and laser) make her eyes look uncharacteristically large?
Also, I am curious about what Bob and Marcia do with that huge house when they are not overseeing residentials.
Also, I never really realized how tall James was until the second panel of today's comic.
I love that Tom includes the skyline of the Court behind all of the trees. Now that the fog is gone, the skyline continues to remind us that this is all happening in yet another crazy area of the Court, and not actually in any countryside. True, the laser cows and shenanigans might be a bigger reminder, but I still love the attention to detail and the dedication to creating a whole, complete world. Tom just doesn't drop the ball for a minute.
..... In a related side note, the labyrinthine nature of the court reminds me more and more of something out of Borges and his infinite libraries. This is probably association, and not a direct reference, but I'll be interested to see how the apparent infinity of the Court and of Gillitie Woods (an infinity which is, however, nonetheless finite and contained by some version of the world we know) eventually plays out.

Anyone care to make predictions about: a) What the next chapter will be about, b) What the bonus page will be about (credit goes to Joiz) a. I don't know, but Eglamore will be incapacitated by a severe back pain. b. Adults-vs-Laser-Cows-related shenanigans, or what zylaa said. Well, if those are all the laser cows they can at least start a fire. That makes it slightly better. The weather's pretty bad, so chances are it will rain. Plus, I firmly believe there are enough Laser Cows outside the L.C.D to make the adults suffer the rest of the trip.

Nice that Bob and Marcia have a sense of humor about the whole situation.
But then, Marcia probably can take both of them into a tree (or somehow provide reasonable comfort for both of them, courtesy of the fact that she's a dryad).
And Eggy? He can just hop back to the school. I don't see what the big deal is.

Another epic chapter concludes! With lasers!
I still don't know what the "problem" Tom thought everyone would have with this chapter was. But I guess that's a good thing.

I can see why Eglamore would be a bit sore about it.

There was a moment went I was taken aback by this chapter's final twist. A lock-out revenge? Seriously? How old is everyone here? It just seemed like some cliche that I would expect from one of those movies where "young unpopular slightly scrawny guy likes girl; girl likes football player; scrawny guy becomes strong/confident; embarrasses stupid-jock football player; girl likes guy now." Don't get me wrong; the laser cows definitely make this an enjoyable ending (especially when combined with Tom's hilarious comments and the sheer super-cool of Marcia/Bob). However, if I'm honest with myself, I have to admit that there were a few moments where I thought, "Really? We're doing it this way? Okay..."
Or, even more puzzling to me: how did every single student in the house agree to go along with this plan? Wouldn't there be at least four or five people who would balk at taking over a professor's house? Wouldn't there be one or two who would have some sort of strong moral opposition to all of this?
But then I remember that Tom forgot to add a character who says, "I don't think that's such a good idea," at every turn.

The children's trick was carefully planned before they executed it. Annie, Kat, and Jack all had major roles in executing it. This means they must have cooperated in planning it, no?
Might have been interesting to see what that conversation was like.

Wouldn't there be at least four or five people who would balk at taking over a professor's house? Wouldn't there be one or two who would have some sort of strong moral opposition to all of this? The kids are bored. They've been sitting there for 1-2 days with nothing to do and no end in sight. A bit of revenge and comeuppance for being kidnapped would be quite tempting, especially if someone else was providing the leadership. Besides, even if a few of them balked, that doesn't mean they would try to stop the ones who are willing to act. All they needed to do was bring a few blankets from their dorms and wrap up the tree. Where did they get the ropes, though...?

I still don't know what the "problem" Tom thought everyone would have with this chapter was. But I guess that's a good thing. A few possibilities: 1. The situation turned out to be exactly what the children openly suspected it to be: the teachers "kidnapping" the children to make the camping trip more interesting, without any surprise twists. (Well, maybe Marcia turning out to be a dryad and using her species' abilities to carry off the children, but a lot of the readers guessed that she was a dryad from her hair coloring and her concern about the trees, even before it was revealed in the comic.) 2. The confrontation between Annie and Jack, with some readers taking Annie's side and some Jack's side. 3. The suggestion above that the story was just the old "students getting even" idea and nothing more original than that. 4. Or maybe Tom was just joking.

5. Tom was talking about the story he was working on, rather than the one we were reading.
And I'm sure that somewhere, Aesop turns over in his grave, frustrated with his inability to write a story with this moral

Since we're guessing, the two main possibilities I see for the bonus page are more Janet/Winsbury, adults uncomfortable in a tent, or kids exploring the awesomeness of the dorms (relative to sleeping on the ground).
It would make sense for at least part of the next chapter to involve Annie trying to find out what the hell the weird spider on Jack's face is about. You'd think after seeing something like that she'd hunt up Reynardine, Zimmy, or Jones (or all of the above) to find some answers. It might not be the focus of the whole chapter, but one would expect at least one scene involving that unless Events Eventuate that prevent it.
I'm a bit curious about Tom thinking the chapter would be a problem, too.

5. Tom was talking about the story he was working on, rather than the one we were reading. Nah, he had specified as a clarification that he was talking about the chapter that had just started being posted (i.e. the one we just finished reading)

I failed to notice this at first read, but rereading #631 there's a tiny exclamation mark next to Annie in the second panel, indicating surprise. She doesn't seem to have expected Jack's contribution.

Idk...that just seems like part of the house in the background. if there was an exclamation mark, it would probably be bolder (and possibly on top of her head as it's done in most comics)

You may be right - I didn't even think it might be part of the background.
I don't remember if/how Tom has reused such marks, and how he's positioned them. I will reread the whole comic and let people know. :-)
