I have made it my life goal to beat you, Yin. It's okay, I do slip sometimes- like 3:01 pm today. Besides which, I'm off two Fridays from now. Battle for supremacy in my absence.

As usual, it'll be a long wait until Monday... Residential? I wonder what we're in for... Commence three days of utterly baseless speculation!

I...uh...wow. How did you remember that?! I guess that explains the new page, though. Campin' time! Hopefully without giant angry tree-wolves.

Sweeeeeet.* (I've been looking forward to this part since that one page, as well.) *Yes, my reaction to this chapter is identical to that of a frat boy confronted with a keg of cheap beer. What of it? (I apologize in advance to any frat boys who 1) are reading this forum & 2) actually have some class.)

I wonder if Annie's allowed to take Reynardine with her? I'm kinda curious about what might go down if Jack decides to act up again, and Rey isn't there to help.

I had a feeling we'd be seeing the camping arc next. I wonder where it's actually taking place? You can see the Court in the background (that is a very nice image BTW), but it doesn't look like Gillitie.

This arc will blow our minds at least in one thing... it will (probably) have more colors than grey and purple. ;D Even that title page made me go "whaa? Green?"

I don't think they'd be camping in Gillitie, in any case - not in light of how most of the forest's inhabitants seem to feel about humans.

holy crap ezeep, that is some fierce memory you got.
Who's going to be the unhappy camper? Maybe headmaster's daughter and her bf. I don't know.
Hey, maybe Jack will be there!

Honestly I'm surprised that not everyone remembered Annie saying that in Chapter 14. Then again, I tend to think that everyone is like me and the other people in the Fan Project and has re-read the entire comic like 12 times (at least) like I have. I have to remember at times that not everyone is as rabid and fanatical as we are. (Shout out to the GKCFP homies!) I'm certain that what you're seeing in the picture is not Gillitie Wood, but a green belt inside the Court, like Central Park in New York. Recall that after Coyote created the Annan Divide, there were areas of Forest on the Court side and areas of the Court on the Forest side, as shown in this page. I'm also surprised at the number of people in the on-page comments (presumably Americans) who don't know what "residential" means in British parlance... most likely because they don't remember Tom explaining it back in the beginning of Ch 14. Which takes us right back to the conversation about remembering that not everyone has re-read the comic a dozen times...

This is an absolutely beautiful page. From what we have seen in his drawings of Gillitie, this chapter should be visually stunning. So, either this will take place off campus, which means Annie will leave the court for the first time in over a year and a half, or the Court did indeed leave some area undeveloped. I didn't remember the earlier page when I first read it, but it came to me about an hour later I wonder if Annie's allowed to take Reynardine with her? I'm kinda curious about what might go down if Jack decides to act up again, and Rey isn't there to help. Well, Annie isn't exactly defenseless

Aha, thanks for bringing up that page again. Annie in panel 2 is pure win... warrior/fighter kind of gal. And I agree, after that extremely uncomfortable last meeting, Annie surely is now more mentally prepared. (Plus I like Annie's pose in the last panel of that page... <3 )

I'm curious who Annie will take with her. She probably won't take robot, but Shadow 2 and Reynardine are up in the air. If the camp site is in or near the court, Shadow 2 could visit without having to be taken. However, given that at least all of Qn will be there, Shadow 2 may shy away from the people. Taking Rey is probably possible, but may be like taking a chaperon. Also in the close quarters that tents usually are, Annie may not get any chances to talk to Rey anyway.

Well, if he goes Rey probably will be in plushie-form (meaning hell probly be way more obnoxious) but hes kinda been avoiding that form lately. i kinda miss more of the maniacal-yet-unavoidably-cute-Rey.

I couldn't find this. Could you provide a link, please? See Edzepp's link, 2nd post, this thread. That would be the beginning of Chapter 15. In any case, it doesn't really exactly explain what a Residential is other than a camping trip. Is that all it is? Giving it a name like that makes me think there's something more to it. Why are you surprised that people in America don't know a British term like this? No one here uses that term, and unless you know someone from Britain or spent time there and someone mentioned this term, you wouldn't know about it... Or I dunno, you randomly look up British terms on the internet for fun? Either way, I didn't know what it was and I would not have remembered a passing referrence to it in a single frame of the entire comic.

How strange. At school we used to use the term 'residential' for overnight trips and the like, but I'd always assumed it was an Americanism. Apparently -we- invented it. We live and learn, I guess.
Given that Tom has categorically stated they would not be allowed to camp in the Forest, I'm going to agree with Max and say that there's probably a small area of forest left in the middle of the Court. Either that or it's going to be another simulation, but I'm getting a bit tired of them.

Am I the only one that suspects this may be about Anny's dad? I don't know why, it's just a suspicion....

The Concise Oxford Dictionary (9th Ed.), which is very British and also awesome, doesn't list "residential" as a noun, or any meaning related to camping.

Over here we call them field trips.

Am I the only one that suspects this may be about Anny's dad? I don't know why, it's just a suspicion.... I doubt it. She said in the narration she didn't see him for another 2 years. The residential was mentioned in the beginning of year assembly as something that would happen in the following academic year so it can't be more than a few months later. How strange. At school we used to use the term 'residential' for overnight trips and the like, but I'd always assumed it was an Americanism. Apparently -we- invented it. We live and learn, I guess. Over here we call them field trips. I always called what you'd call a field trip a school trip. In fact GK was the first time I ever heard the word "residential" used in this fashion. Based on the fact it involved a week of camping I assumed it was describing the long trips that occasionally popped up during my (compulsory) academic career. To clarify I had two in primary school (which consisted of camping in Wales) and two in secondary school which involved trips to a French ski resort (which I didn't bother with personally).
