ooh!A lovely page by itself, and I just noticed that the boat's named the Mary Celeste. What an ill omen.

Oh my gosh, so pretty. VICTORIAN STYLE!Actually, on close inspection, it appears to more of a 1940's garb. But both are equally beautiful and stylish.

Why is Tea-San so awesome? And now Tom is wearing a GC uniform. Curious!
As I noted in the comments, I love the airplanes.

Oh my gosh, so pretty. VICTORIAN STYLE! With a microwave tower and fighter planes... Tea is looking pretty posh. Hello again, Tea.

I'm not too embarrassed to say that Tea is really quite beautiful in this one. The look (whatever era it is) suits her, almost. Of all the appearances of this character in the comic, this one is the best one I think, or at least my new favorite.

Orrrrr we could all go listen to the auditions and vote or record auditions of our own; we're still lacking in both departments.

So my question is how this will be different from an ordinary chapter. I mean Gunnerkrigg is essentially a collection of short stories as it is, all contributing to the main storyline. So will this be featuring some minor characters? Be completely unrelated to Gunnerkrigg Court? Intriguing...

Those planes in the sky -- are those British planes, flying off the bomb the enemies? Or are those Axis planes, come to rain fiery death on this city? This picture is in the UK in WWII, right? Foreboding either way.
I agree that period dress suits Tea rather nicely.

Orrrrr we could all go listen to the auditions and vote or record auditions of our own; we're still lacking in both departments. For example: I'm the only one with an audition out for ali. (But I'm ok with that.) But seriously, I'm up for overly analyzing the short story to death. "You see how this one guy looks at that one guy all funny?...He's obvioulsy an alien sent to Earth to rape our land and defile our women!!" But that's not funny...rape is never always funny.

Usually when a comic goes on hiatus I'm all disappointed. However, with an awesome author like Tom, I'm actually looking forward to it??? What magic is this, pray tell me? Also, I'm hoping the story will be Zimmy-Gamma centric. Edit: A fascinating read, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marie_Celeste

There was a documentary I saw on that a while back. Alcohol fumes caught fire and scared them off the boat, apparently.

No Gunnerkrigg Court for two weeks? Well, there's no denying Tom deserves a break, what with that whole "never missing an update even though no one is paying him for this" thing. And this short story sounds intriguing. That's some mighty fine artwork today, too.

Kudos to Tom for spelling the ship's name correctly, since not too many people do that. (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote a story about it in which he spelt it "Marie Celeste", and it caught on.)

I'm really looking forward to the short story (will it be set in WW2? Or Victorian England?), but no main story for 2 weeks? I think I might die

Oh wow, I thought it was gonna be a written story, but Tom says it's a comic! Uh, guys, we're getting a comic *every* *weekday* during Tom's "break". Is there any way to describe how awesome this is? I don't think so!

I wouldn't even think of it as a break at all. In fact, it's more like a bonus for us! I really like the bombers up in the sky, I once actually had the privilege of seeing a WW2-era jet flying, and I tell you they make an impression.

I thought everyone involved didn't adopt the technology until after the war (they thought it was too complex to be useful) or invented it too late?

I'd kind of like to see a continuation of this comic short story started by animoose. But it's probably nothing of the sort and I'm only recalling it because I got to see Tea today.

Wow. Tea looks absolutely lovely in this image. That outfit definitely suits her. For those who (like me) didn't know what the name Mary Celeste meant, I give you wikipedia.

It is fitting for me to be the one to point out that Hey, if you like the character Tea, the audition for voicing her lines is still open in the Gunnerkrigg Court Fan Project!
That's right, one of YOU could get to pretend to be Tea! You know you want to.

Gunner make the Glorious First of June even more gloriouser. (I don't see how even Tom could make it more firstier or Junier. But I'm willing to be shown wrong.)
