I find it amusing to no end that she's squirmy rather over Muut having no shirt than him being an owl-headed cahuilla death god. But I suppose thanks to accompanying Annie she's more de-sensitized to mythical beings than masculine beauty by now.

What I find most hillarious is the first panel. It reads like Annie is just making a phone call and is asking the operator/secretary/whatever, to direct her call to the complaints department. ;D

I'd guess that Muut lives in Uncanny Valley. As a result, while he's not at all creepy like Ketrak, Kat thinks he's nearly as creepy in a different way.

Y'know, I don't know if that's a creeped out squirmy. I mean Muut's pretty buff. And he's got a bird head. And well, Kat, y'know... Let's just say we've learned something about Kat today that we probably didn't need to know

Muut strikes me as someone who is rather intimidating to meet in person, what with him being about as tall (or taller even) as Eggers, and having an owl's stare. From the little we've seen of him, I'd also say he has a - in the lack of a better word - strong personality. I'm not sure if Kat's Aly-syndrome is playing much of a role right now.

As a result, while he's not at all creepy like Ketrak,... I'm getting a "The image cannot be displayed, because it contains errors" message. Have we ever seen Ketrak? I know Annie has, but I don't remember that we have. Is Ketrak all aura and no body? Or are we just the arrival/departure aura that Muut is showing?

I'm rather surprised (though I guess I shouldn't be) at how fast Muut got there. Ah well, I suppose he has to travel fast in his line of work.
As for Kat, she might also be slightly uncomfortable due to the fact that Annie is delving into very large, very overarching powers. I know I'd feel a bit squeamish if my friend called up someone who is pretty much Death in order to (probably) interrogate them.

Annie's a mighty cold bitch - apologies for choice of words - when she's being serious. As for Ketrak - he's perfectly visible, Tom just doesn't feel like figuring out what he'd look like. I think.

I am curious how Kat reconciles psychopomps in her science-head.
Extra-dimensional entities?

I'm rather surprised (though I guess I shouldn't be) at how fast Muut got there. I'm not. I figure time and space are pretty much meaningless to psychopomps (hmm, time probably not, actually). I mean, just in order to be able to do his job, Ketrak for example virtually has to be everywhere at the same time. Just think about how many Billions of insects live on earth, and how many of them die in every instant.

I'm more interested in Kat's hair at the moment. Check it out, it's starting o get that curly kink in it that Anja's hair has.

I’m not sure about Kat. “Bird-fetish in the making” was my first thought, too, but for one thing, she doesn’t blush, as she usually does. Also her body-language tells me it’s awkward, and not in that partly pleasant way.
A psychopomp is an awe-inspiring being that ordinary folk only get to see when they die. Annie deals with those guys routinely and doesn’t show much, if any, respect, whereas Kat’s reaction is probably just natural. Experiencing your best friend going all passive-aggressive on someone like Muut doesn’t help, either.

Muut's words to Annie have definitely strengthened the "pro-ant" side in the debate over last Friday's page.

Annie's in control of herself this time. And she's just a little bit more polite with Ketrak than with Muut. Have we ever seen Ketrak? I know Annie has, but I don't remember that we have. Is Ketrak all aura and no body? Or are we just the arrival/departure aura that Muut is showing? No, Ketrak has never been shown to the readers. I'm pretty sure that's Ketrak's aura in the first panel, seeing as it's all swirly while Muut's is angular.

Also her body-language tells me it’s awkward, and not in that partly pleasant way. That is because Muut is present, confront how she talk/react about mr. Eglamore in his absence and when he is in the same room.

I don't think that's a "good" blush. And that very idea has prompted, in my mind, another one - what if Annie is partially using Muut's visibility as a means of slight revenge against Kat, for having played matchmaker with Annie? It would certainly drive home the point that just because a match seems good (bird head and shirtless!) doesn't mean that it is. Especially when it involves the dead.
I'm feeling really sorry for Kat right now. She's been through a lot of emotions throughout the day.

Nice touch, seems very timeless this way.

Yeah, Kat seems more "Why did I want to see this guy again?" than anything else. I imagine he must be a rather imposing figure, with those unblinking eyes and tall frame. She must feel very sheepish confronting him.
Also Kat's hair seems to be a good deal longer than the previous chapter. It almost looks shoulder-length in those last couple panels.

My reactions on Kat are mixed, look at her foot! I'm not sure what that means. Muut's appearance probably wasn't what she was expecting. But knowing her, I think she'll grow to like it.
And yeah...her hair.

Her hair looks to have those wavy-dents you get in your hair after keeping a ponytail/pigtails in for a while.

Does anyone else think that Annie is downright rude? I wonder if she's going to give it to Muut like she did to Mort.
