And I want a robot with a hat. Or a siren. On Wheels.
Or just a robot would be cool.

God, Kat just gets cooler every time she appears. I'm so jealous.

KAT IS SO ADORABLE! EEEE
I feel my credibility fading with every squeal. But I like this page a LOT. Kat is awesome and Robots are awesome. So are Rey and Annie, but they're not doing much yet.
EDIT: Also, robots that are neither afraid of humans nor terrible! Cool beans.

Kat is so awesomely adorable in this page. Random Raynardine is cool, too. Annie's just kinda there so far, LAUGHING ON LINE.

Seconding what has been said - Kat looks great. Also, you got Dresden Codak telling you "I LIKE your robots." in the comments. The infrequent master of transhumanist webcomickry telling you that, that's praise

Ooooh, what's being made now? It should be pretty obvious that the CNC for building parts for Robot's new body. However, the question remains if it used to actually manufacture the parts or if it is taken apart and salvaged for parts. ;D After all, a CNC basically already is a robot...

Is it just me, or do we hardly ever see those school uniforms any more? Ever since the second year began (with Chapter Fifteen) most of the chapters seem to be taking place during the week-ends or at night, or whenever uniforms aren't necessary. (The only exceptions I can think of are Chapter Sixteen - and the Court scenes there were just the framework for the flashback - and Chapter Seventeen.)
Tom once described the uniform's colors as ugly (and indicated that he chose them largely because those were the only colors he had available when he started drawing "Gunnerkrigg Court"); I wonder if he's setting most of the stories during the "off-hours" period so that he won't have to draw or color the uniforms as often now.

Just how big is the court? I mean, I know it's huge, we've seen that. But that's the skyline of a major city, not a school.

That's right - any time the chapter head has a blinker stone, it means we'll have robots. Yay robots!
Also, uthor, according to Wikipedia, CNC variants can have lathes, so Kat's very well could be one. I wonder what they need it for?

EDIT: Oh, yeah, and Kat looks amazing in today's.

A CNC machine is not a lathe... <pedant>Not necessarily, that is true, but the most common (and certainly the most widely known) type of CNC machine tools these days are probably multiple axis lathes (and milling machines, which are basically lathes on steroids). CNC also seems to have become a shorthand for any type of rapid-prototyping tool, though.</pedant> Anyway, who cares, great comic, love the new robots! The warning light robot looks a bit like doorbot. Did he get demoted? EDIT: outbreak of RAS syndrome.

Kat is the spitting image of her mother. I love it. Where did she get the funds for a CNC though?
Also, the robots remind me of the one wheeled camera robots from "A Miracle of Science."

Not everybody on the Internet is who they say they are. By the way, Kat is amazing. I would marry a girl like her in a second, if she were, you know, older. And real. Her bandana is awesome too. She's going to need a lot more equipment than a lathe if she wants to create robots though.

Where'd she get the money for a thing like that, anyway? Maybe Gunnerkrigg Court gives out money to people who will use the funds to improve the state of Court robotics?

You forget that Kat is the daughter of two science teachers. They probably have some kind of arrangement regarding equipment on demand already, and Anja would've given Kat a line of credit or something to work with as far as ordering equipment.

Nah, I wouldn't forget that. But we're talking about a piece of equipment that costs thousands of dollars, even with any sort of discounts given to the school/its teachers (what grade school science teachers, even at a place like the court, would need such things for I don't know, unless one of 'em is part of a robotics lab or something...). Somehow, I doubt the Donlans are willing to drop that kind of cash on Kat's pet projects, unless they're much wealthier than we think. : ) I can see the Court setting aside funds for this kind of thing, though; maybe they have students submit proposals for ideas and pick the ones they think most worthy of funding or something. Alternately, Kat is a pirate queen and she's financing this with all the loot she's accumulated over the years. I can totally see her in that role.

Considering how much Kat looks like her mother, I guess so. Man, the awesome ^__^ Tom: I'm well aware. I just didn't think it was particularly unlikely

I'm beginning to think the Court 'has/can produce' an infinite amount of energy, in a Barjavel way. They have high-technology materials, it's huge, and they can have this material in any point of it... And besides we don't know anything about the rest of the world except for Gillitie forest.

Given the near abandoned state of much of the Court, it seems likely there's equipment just lying around unused.
That and the Donlans are probably more than science teachers, as GC is probably more than a school.

Gunnerkrigg is a million times better than Dresden Codak and so it is probably sucking up to someone who humbles you.
