Oh my. Annie as seen through Coyote's eyes is... jarring. (not around next few updates)

I agree fully Yin. Pretty cool though.
And Renard and Ysengrin were once buddies! Or if not buddies...close in some manner. More history! YAYYY!

I'll say.
The art in this chapter is SERIOUSLY impressive.

Indian folklore meets European folkore! In the fable of Renard, there is also a badger, a lion, and a bear, I wonder if they live in Gillitie Wood too

The art in this chapter is making me all shivery. Oh, Tom, you do have a way with line and color.

Backstory ho!
So Reynardine and Ysengrin were..... what? Friends? Comrades? They appear to have had a more cordial relationship than they do now, at any rate. I really hope Coyote tells Annie what went wrong.
The blue light coming from the forest over in the bottom right hand corner looks like the scene of the Court being created that we saw in Jone's explanation.
And yes, the art here is simply gorgeous. Tom is consistently out-doing himself.

So now we know why Coyote's living in Great Britain rather than in the southwestern United States.
I was surprised, when I read the Comments Page, to find out that so many people were surprised to learn that Reynardine used to be a fox. Apparently the Reynard the Fox legend isn't as familiar as it once was.
And the Bonus Page to Chapter Sixteen takes on a new significance after this page and its footnote (though I assume that most of the dogs on that page were Guides rather than whatever Reynardine and Ysengrin are).

This chapter so far is a cornucopia of color and awesome. I am rendered speechless by it!

There is a strange light shown in the centre of the Wood, pretty much the same as on this page: www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=373Coincidence: I think not. Maybe the power surge from the previous chapter shot towards this place, but that's is probably something for the Wild Spec thread.

Considering that the sun is on the left side of the page, it's possible that this light is just the moon. EDIT: Nevermind, wrong light. Oops.
While it was strongly implied previously that Rey was a fox, it's nice to see this point clearly spelled out.

Reynardine, Ysengrin, and Coyote. Sounds like a troublesome trio if I ever heard one. I like how this explains why Coyote is out of his regular mythological realm. Also, the art continues to impress.

I think we're about to find out what law Reynardine broke. =D I'm excited. I LOVED Annie-through-Coyote's-eyes, especially her blue gem of an eye. Sharp. Very symbolic.
