New pageAnnie's looking for something? Jeanne, maybe? Reflecting, I'd tend to agree with you. Eggers' responsible hand probably kept her from seeing anything, though. Speaking of Eggers, his final comment implies that he has slain dragons before. It's possible his statement means that dragons were extinct long before his lifetime, but if so this alternate occupation of his certainly gains an interesting status.

Speaking of Eggers, his final comment implies that he has slain dragons before. Not really. It implies his title is just a title instead of a job description, and to a lesser extent that dragons aren't a threat anymore. What we interpret from that is a matter of personal opinion.

"Dragon Slayer" is an obviously awesome job description. Makes you wonder what titles the other teachers get. "Enchanter" "Elementalist" "Gardener"... just imagine the possibilities.

No TicTocs on the bridge this time, so far... I was thinking the exactly same. This I wasn't thinking! Good idea. Or maybe the tic toc that invaded electronically the side of the hill, near the river?

No TicTocs on the bridge this time, so far... It makes sense. The birds who were last seen guarding the bridge were lost rescuing Annie (or at least one of them was.) They're a downright mystery, even the faculty don't know much about them. What's more, whoever made them is unknown and is probably not around anymore. We know they can apparently affect the terrain around them, but that doesn't mean they can completely repair or replicate themselves. So, unless they're still being manufactured, or we're given further data on them that expands the possibilities, the bird guarding that spot on the bridge isn't likely to be replaced.

The TicToc was stationed about halfway across the bridge. I don't know if Annie and Eggers have gotten that far yet.

We also don't know if the TicToc on the bridge was the one that died in Chapter Eight.

Annie was looking over the edge of the bridge right next to the cliff nearest the court side. That would be the side Jeanne was on, rather than the side she landed and where the tic-toc took root. I would think it reasonable, given her recent speculation about Jeanne's origins, that she would be curious.

something weird, now that you're all metioning Tic-Tocs and Jeanne, is the fact that in the title page you can see a mechanical wheel on the side of the forest (where the Tic Toc rooted maybe), and on the court side we have this weird "eye" or something... I first tought it was a haloo over Annie figure... but maybe it represents Jeanne..
I get the feeling we are going to learn a lot about those things

What we interpret from that is a matter of personal opinion. I can dream We also don't know if the TicToc on the bridge was the one that died in Chapter Eight. If it was and also hasn't been replaced, then it would seem that the TicTocs are just loose robots with possibly scraps of programming left over. This would imply that there is no one running them behind the scenes, which given what we know of them is not all that far-fetched.

We know that Rogat Orjak's exist, so why don't dragons exist. Perhaps there are just very few of them. Mabye the eye on the title is shadow 2.

I get the feeling we are going to learn a lot about those things the eye thing looks a lot like the shape of the seeds yessisgrim "planted" (arr arr arr) when he and coyote came to visit. makes sense that this is in contrast to the planted tic-toc *yin-yang thing opposites within the opposite* the figure with three swords we now know to be Eggers, I just have to go dig out the big book of amulets and talismans to figure what planet the lines on his head represent. I think its a seal of a planet or something because it looks like what I remember for the seal (talisman) of the moon.

I think its a seal of a planet or something because it looks like what I remember for the seal (talisman) of the moon. Alchemical symbol for lead. The first time we ever saw Eggers in his dragon-slaying regalia he had the symbol on his chest (still does, actually). About the dragon slaying statement, there is another possibility; dragons are still around, but they don't need slaying because they're largely a peaceful group. That seems like it'd fit nicely with the comic.

Eglamore seems to have read Annie's mind. Quick poll on what she may have been thinking, and triggered the response " I don't think so."
1. "I wonder if the White Lady is down there waiting for me." 2. "Did I just see a TicToc?" 3. "Is there way to cross the chasm apart from this bridge?" 4. "Maybe I should just moe a bit closer to the edge." 5. "Would Eglamore follow me if I decided to jump right now?" 6. - more options welcome.

Whatever Eglamore meant by "I don't think so", I doubt it had anything to do with Jeanne. We don't know whether Eglamore knows about Jeanne or not, but we can be certain that Annie had not told him about their encounter. So he wouldn't be expecting her to be thinking about the White Lady (a cooler title for her than "Ghost Girl with a Sword" - though both are redundant now that we know her name).

I always just called her Sword Girl.
