Huh. Ooh, so they're walkin' around in Zimmy's HEAD. Or something similar.

I suppose Tom just couldn't resist saying that the other day!
I hope we get to see everyone else soon. So is Gamma (and everyone else) still around somewhere in the place they are as well as physically on the roof?

Zimmy seems to have recovered quite well from her little episode though, she's as calm as we've ever seen her. Also: no more nobodies around.

I knew I'd heard that before, just couldn't place it.
Also, didn't someone guess the "they're still on the roof" bit? Bravo to you, whoever you are.

So Zimmy doesn't shower because it serves no purpose to her, and the only thing that has purpose to her is something that gives her that release she gets when real rain comes.
This page reminded me of a piece by Atrium Carceri - Behind the curtain of life

So, this is kind of a shared nightmare-hallucination created by zimmy... Too bad, in a way...a real uncontrolled reality bender that materializes stuff -for real- from some monstrous plane is way more rare, and cool, imho... well, it was good while it lasted. Well, for the (from my view) upperside, if she learns to control it, she can have the best VR environment ever known ... heh...that does not stand the comparison... *weeps*

Your own personnel holodeck? That would be super awesome indeed! Although there seem to be some troubles with the "Computer, exit!" command ... Zimmy's last two lines confuse me a bit. So, one day she will not be able to exit the nightmare town of her own mind, and not regain consciousness? To the outside world she would seem like a girl in a coma, slowly starving to death without medical attention? Or is she permanently trapped in there, even when she's conscious and walking around and talking to people? I don't understand at all.

What Z said made me so sad.... It would make me sad, but I predict that she will find a way out via the power of friendship or something similar.

Also: no more nobodies around. You can see them peeping around from behind the buildings in panel four, heheh I'm trying to pay as much attention now to the details as possible because it seems I always overlook something and when I read these threads I am always shocked to discover something new. haha

maybe they are staying back so annie doesn't pop them, maybe they are afraid. which means that the creatures in zimmy's head that she is afraid of, can themselves be afraid. also, if one pops is it popped for good or do they reform? if it's for good then couldn't annie and gamma go nobody hunting and get rid of all of them? pretty sure that would make zimmy feel a hell of a lot better.

The trouble with a hunting expedition is that without knowing what those nobodies are exactly there's no knowing what damage Annie and Gamma might do, to Zimmy or perhaps to others somehow linked to the nobodies.

@ nick
Thats true. If this is all a big hallucination, then maybe the nobodies are a manifestation of something that Z just doesn't recognize. But if Annie and Gamma are erasing, or maybe just moving, these things, then what effect would it have? huh

Tom, Sir, your posted words are often more puzzling than the poor lass Zimmy's are. Can I kindly ask what do you mean with this extremely sibylline reply?

I was just saying it's cool how you declared the whole chapter as bullshit, that's all.

I expressed myself wrongly if it seems i said so! I think this chapter is second only to "The Fangs of Summertime" (that is the top of awesome) , in fact! Also as a plus it's much creepy, which i like, and Zimmy is one of the cooler characters out here. My post was intended as a mild (and joking, also) letdown, for that i got a wrong idea before, probably i've been biased by my idea of "cool". This chapter is most definitely Not BS at all i've not said that! Me and my student are appreciating this a lot, i assure! I was so happy you did reply to me, and then...ugh...i feel sorry. really.
EDIT: not want to monopolize the topic, especially after my mistake. Go on people. EDIT EDIT: ah, with the EDIT above i'm not saying at all you must not answer, Tom, just to be clear. i do not want to offend you anymore by mistake, er...i again say i'm really sorry. I'm feeling like shit, right now.

I don't know if anybody's brought this up before, but:
Note that in Chapter Eleven, Gamma was wandering about the city entirely by herself when she met Zimmy, and apparently stays with her after that, with not even a hint of family or a home to go to. Also, the mysterious recruiters take her off to Gunnerkrigg just like that, without seeking out her parents (as far as we know) to get their approval.
Was Gamma a homeless orphan when she met Zimmy? We don't know yet, but the evidence suggests it.
