Uh-oh. Zimmy sans Gamma. This won't end well.

Yay, cookie! *nom* *nom* *nom* I found it quite obvious. One could argue that it isn't really rain, but only water falling down. If that was enough why would Zimmy even have her problem? She'd just have to take a shower twice a day or so.

So the normal rain helps clear static. whereas this artificial water dump. does not. Kinda would explain why she doesn't just clean her face at the nearest water faucet.
I gotta tell you, its hard to not like characters named Jack. Kat seems to like him.
How are they gonna get out of this one now. I figure Annie is central to that.

Is Jack Scottish? Just wondering because he said "oh aye" earlier in the evening.
Zimmy looks so... I don't know what the word is, I want to say cute, in the fourth panel! Poor Zimmy! I love her!
Annie doesn't look too happy, she looks like she's worried about her make up coming off. What a gentleman Jack is too, sheltering the girls.
I'm impressed by how you can instantly tell Zimmy is back in the city she is from at a glance because the colour palette is different from the Court.

Oh great! Zimmy is lost in a weird reality. Let's just hope all this stays in her mind and doesn't change things for real. Time for some serious medium work for Annie. Maybe she can show off some useful skills she learned during her training. Did anyone else notice that Annie lost her makeup to the rain?

Yeah, you can kind of see in the second panel. It's hard to tell in the rain. She's either feeling very self conscious in the first panel or attempting to protect her makeup or both.

God, do I feel sorry for Zimmy. This can't be good.
Also, dude, did Kat just.... swear? I'm amazed.

A person called Dep in the comments on the main page suggested a reason why Zimmy always wears school uniform - that it's so she knows when is is hallucinating when she sees that she is wearing something else.

A person called Dep in the comments on the main page suggested a reason why Zimmy always wears school uniform - that it's so she knows when is is hallucinating when she sees that she is wearing something else. That doesn't explain why Gamma never changes - the last page in Dobranoc, Gamma shows she's concerned about keeping her clothes clean and tidy. They came straight to the Court from living rough in Birmingham, right? Maybe the uniform is just the best outfit they own.
I've become paranoid now. I'm wondering what the significance is of Gamma wearing a jumper while Zimmy doesn't.
I wonder if Zimmy gets sleep paralysis when she has hallucinations, or if everyone else on the roof just saw her freeze and say 'crap'. If not, then if she has to run away from giant bugs at any point, she is liable to take a header off the roof.

Annie isn't really known for her sense of humor. She's likely just a little annoyed with him and is ignoring him while getting her hat. Anyway, I was a tad shocked at the last panel. This is shaping up to be very interesting. Don't disappoint us, Tom! =D

I think they wear school uniforms because they're school students in a school where school uniforms are mandatory dress. In a school. SCHOOL.

There's really no reason for it to not work, since those are rain clouds as much as, well, rain clouds, unless they used some chemical in order to evaporate the water or the lighning collection.
I'd say lightning collection.

No, that is not the reason. They always wear it, as far as we've seen, even at weekends and in the current story arc when the other students don't.
Gaia - yeah, that sounds plausible too. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Zimmy in her home city!

I'm looking forward to seeing more of Zimmy in her home city! Except she wasn't wearing it before it started raining. Now it's raining, and he's having a laugh over it, and she seems to be ignoring him while getting the hat out to protect her head from the downpour. I really doubt it's a matter of self-consciousness. When has she ever showned any concern for what people think of her? Also you probably weren't responding to me, so nevermind.

Annie isn't really known for her sense of humor. I don't know. Considering some of her comebacks ("Well I'm sorry I'm not as clever as my mother." "Isn't there always a Death Ray?" "At the very least I should have to wear trousers." "Yes, a big softie who tried to kill me.") she strikes me as quite witty. She just has a very dry sense of humor, and she's much, much better when she's being spontaneous than when she's forcing it.

There's no reason for Annie's blinker stone to burn some materials and not others. There also is no reason for all the robots in the last chapter to function, but yet they do. See where I'm getting at?

Yeees.
Zimmy time.
(Also, I laughed at the sunny Birmingham comment. It is actually sunny here today, surprisingly!)

Jack made his entrance just at the right time, lil' bastard sure knows his game Could it be that is the experiment (energy) have something to do with the "rain" not working? Like I said in the last comic, the lines bewteen Z&G seemed to fade away

I cant read if her reaction is bad or just hernatural frigidly calm way of reacting to things. Very kind of the fellow to offer his umbrella to the lovely ladies :3 Gamma is PANICKING, not even her "oh my god its a boy!" look was THIS intense...This iS VERY BAD. i love the last 3 panels. for some reason i get the "really good filmography" feel from it [whats the word for good panel assembly?] my thoughts exactly :3 she might get distracted by whats happening to Zeta though

Did anyone else notice that Annie lost her makeup to the rain? I'm not totally sure she did... I think it's just less pronounced in the art in this chapter. I mean, you can kinda see she's got less eye shadow than usual but if you look back a couple pages she's got just as much there, too. 'course, that isn't to say it's not possible she's trying to protect it anyway. Just checked - last time it rained on Zimmy she stayed under a threshold and wasn't rained on. Unrelated concluding thoughts: AWESOME.

One possible speculation: during Zimmy's flashback to Birmingham, she will have to face the various monsters that she hallucinates on her own - without Gamma, Annie, or anyone else there to help her out this time - and discover a way to overcome them (or, more accurately, to overcome her power), so that she will no longer depend on Gamma and can let her lead her own life instead of feeding on her like a parasite.
(Though the drawback of making most of this chapter "Zimmy Alone" is that the rooftop cast seems too large for that.)

I kinda predicted the effect of that "artificial" rainwater was not going to be good. I also really hope monsters do not start materializing on the roof. But what i want to know is: What does Tom mean in his bottom-page comment? someone cares to explain that to me? i do not get it.

I think he means that Zimmy either let go of Gamma too quickly (unlikely, since Gamma was holding onto her) or she let go control of whatever hallucination mojo she has, expecting the artificial rain to have the same effect usual rain does.

I'm hoping this leads to a trip across the water to the actual power station. The whole gang on the rooftop would go, and it would be an adventure, like Indiana Jones. Good times all around. You know, once Zimmy's not warping reality anymore. They would find out what the experiment is all about, and then Zimmy would break it for making her head all screwy.
Course, I've been hoping this the whole chapter and it still doesn't seem any more likely to happen.
