Ditto regarding Jack's grin.
Yay, we're gonna see Zimmy's eyes again! I hope.

Yay, we're gonna see Zimmy's eyes again! I hope. Hmm, I wouldn't be surprised if Zimmy's reaction to this artificial rain would be quite different. Somehow I almost expect it to knock her right out. But we'll see. Edit: At least they're all wearing trenchcoats. ;D

I'm still not entirely sure if this rain is a good thing or a bad thing at this point.
Also Jack= pure evil.

Just to point out. I kinda feel this is the kinda thing Aang would do. At least when he still lived with his fellow monks.
But man that was a good prank.

With comments like that, CAPSLOCK_ATLA simply *must* hear.

Oh man, I love Jack's facial expression in that second last panel. I really hope he's a recurring character.

I don't think that the rain will have the same effect on Zimmy that it did last time - mainly because that would wrap up the story too quickly. (And since it was produced by a scientific experiment rather than by natural causes, it would make sense within the story as well.)

Very bad things are going to happen.
Maybe Jack can fight them off with his umbrella.

Besides, it's rain as all other rain: evaporated water fallin' down while condensing.

(And since it was produced by a scientific experiment rather than by natural causes, it would make sense within the story as well.) Having everyone see what Zimmy looks like in the rain would just give her something to stress about, convince everyone else that Annie's omniscient, and give everyone something to think about. That doesn't necessarily mean anything about Zimmy will actually get resolved. Unless of course this chapter's all about her, in which case it'll still take a whole damn chapter to get anything out of the way

For a moment I thought Jack had a remote control for the island. *click* THAT was scary. But the evil grin is just awesome. I'm curious what Friday's strip will reveal about the relationship Zimmy - Rain and the question about the difference between natural and artificial weather. And by the way, Tom mentioned me in his comment today.

I, like many others, can't wait to see what happens to Zimmy. I'm not sure what effect the falling water might have on her. Could it be that her sudden doubling over could be from the sudden and unusual manner of the rain didn't give her a chance to adjust to the buildup, or this did somethihng strange to the barometric pressure, and that somehow affected her? All there is to do is wait and see.
And I see in Jack, we meet our first human dashing scoundrel.

Am I the only person wondering what Gamma and Zimmy are saying to each other in panel three?

Could that 'Zot' in panel 5 be a reference to the days when Scott McCloud did great comics instead of pontificating? Come to that, is that a 'Mighty' Boosh in the last panel?

Am I the only person wondering what Gamma and Zimmy are saying to each other in panel three? Probably something along the lines of "I AM FREAKING OUT" and "No, Zimmy! Don't freak out! We don't want to be eaten by bugs!"
Something I just noticed about panels 2 and 3: in panel 2, Zimmy's completely by herself, no telepathy lines no Gamma no other students. In panel 3 immediately after, Gamma's holding her, and given that Gamma's been right next to her for the last three strips it's unlikely she would go away to an out-of-panel distance then immediately return to Zimmy's side. Also, Zimmy's hair in panel 3 is really pretty, but that's unlikely to be relevant.
So, theory: panel 2 is a Zimmy POV shot like we got in Dobranoc, Gamma, showing that she briefly couldn't perceive Gamma at all, whether physically or telepathically.

SHE'S GONNA BLOW!
I do not think this artificial rain from clouds that had..that lightning beam...shoot through it is gonna have any good effects on her...

When Jack said, "Oh, by the way guys..." and saw him pulling something out, I thought for sure he was some sort of agent working for the school or.. something, and it was a trap and.. and!! ... oh, he's just a jackass.
Lower those eyebrows, boy.

I thought panel three was interesting as there are the lines that link Gamma and Zimmy but then there are some that just come off and disappear to one side. Maybe the recieving station is taking something from Zimmy as well? Just a thought...

My first thought about the third panel was that there was steam coming off of Zimmy's head. Maybe she's overheating and needs the rain to cool her off?

Looks more like the G'n'Z link that's been in the last few pages. I'd like to agree with everyone who enjoyed Jack's horrifically toothy smile. I'd also like to say that Gamma is quite stunning in the 3rd panel.

that stuff isnt steam, just like when the natural rain hit her. Some sort of etheric mist.
Anyone notice that little ZAP* from the power station just before the rain?
