They probably didn't see the need, thinking that there's really no reason whatsoever for their friend Robot to hurt them. (And Kat didn't even think it would work anyway.)
I think Rey's idea that "The mind is the plaything of the body" is in effect.

Damn Tom and his continual suspense! We've all been waiting to see what happens when Robot powers up in one of the old bodies, but it just keeps building!
Just kidding. I still love GC.
What I'm more interested in is why it didn't work in the other shell. More etheric mumbo-jumbo rendering otherwise identical components non-interchangable?

I'm guessing it's the extra blue piece that does it >_>
Don't tell me Robot's going all medieval on us now? XD

I think "Jeanne!" is just a word left in some buffer. Seems someone forgot << endl;

Maybe Jeanne is the Sword Girl's name, and those two have a history.

I think its part of a leftover piece of memory that stayed in the body rather than with the mind when it was transfered out.

there's really no reason whatsoever for their friend Robot to hurt them. It's not a matter of someone wanting to hurt anybody, it's simply a basic safety measure. Like not running with scissors or like always treating a gun like it is loaded. Accidents happen. They may know Robot, but they know pretty much nothing about the chassis in which they're installing his CPU. It may malfunction. It may be (partially) incompatible. It may have a "will" of it's own, which actually seems to be the case, at least partially. All it takes for one of the girls to lose a body part is for Robot to not entirely know how to handle his new/old body and thus flail around uncontrollably.

Fhqwhgads, I need a shorter name to type for you. In any case, it COULD be photo girl, but the only evidence so far is that Tom hasn't said it's not. I think we're all a little wary about that girl at this point.
I like Mezzaphor's theory as well. I've always been interested in sword lady.

Perhaps Jeanne is the one who built these robots.

Yeah, but if Robot did all of a sudden go beserk, I'm pretty sure Reynardine would step in and stop him, or try to, at any rate.

With that tiny wheels, I wonder how mousebot can go anywhere that is not a clean, really flat surface. Imagine the bumps at every gap on a tiled floor, or cobblestones...

Can Robot continue to function without a host? I mean, I know he can't see or hear or interact with anything, but can he still think and stuff?

Look at this page ; it seems that he didn't think anything between his body's control and his rehabilitation. If it was so simple... It would mean that he thought "jeanne" before being extracted, which seems not to be the case, or maybe did he discover something while rolling ?

Maybe the docking station didn't affect Robot's mind the way S1 seems to be doing simply because it was inanimate before Robot was put in it. It was a blank slate, and S1 most likely isn't.

Yeah, but memories are stored in the chip. Maybe he saw a robot shell there called Jeanne and was disconnected before he could say Jeanne.
