So. Many. Robots.
This place looks a lot like an operating theater. With Robots.
Robot.

Hmm, looks like I wasn't fast enough to get my second post with the permalink already up there. Oh, and GC always lags on GraphicSmash around this time - probably because a lot of people are looking at the new comic Now that it's loaded....awesome. Kat's lovin' this.

Is that a matador-bot I see?
I assume that other archway is another door. Why is it so big?

Wow. Anja had a lot of spare time. This brings to my mind if she was the one who created robot originally.

Thats.. a lotta robots. Theres gotta be a reason they are all INACTIVE.
If Robot had access to all these bodies, it would be like Ben 10 or something.

I doubt they come from the same designer that built Annie's Robot unless the improved comic art is the reason for the differences between the robots we have seen so far and these new units
There seems to be an entirely different design philosophy between these units and the ones we have seen moving around the court. Annie's robot son was a mass-produced unit that was very austere looking. These are very ornate and unique looking when compared to their peers.

I thought that the place would be big, but that's MASSIVE!

It looks an aweful lot like an arena, indeed. Speculation: Were the robots fighting each other or were they fighting something else? Captured forest creatures? These bots seem to have some sort of insignia on their chest (at least the front three sport a symbol each). Could be ornamental, could be an owner's mark, could be their "arena rank" (how many fights they won). I assume that other archway is another door. Why is it so big? An arena would usually have some sort of impressive main entrance through which the gladiators could march in (in addition to lots of small and unimpressive side entrances, through which they would be dragged out). Looks like it was that kind of gate, before it's been walled up. This might suggest that the place wasn't actually used as an arena anymore. There seems to be an entirely different design philosophy between these units and the ones we have seen moving around the court. Annie's robot son was a mass-produced unit that was very austere looking. These are very ornate and unique looking when compared to their peers. I agree, however that doesn't neccessarily mean they've been build by different parties. Robot could be a "labor" product, while these are for "recreational" use. The question remains: Why were they abandoned down there?

down there, deactivated, locked down. It's not particularly in Tom's style, but if my spider-sense is right, this combination means "dangerous beings".
Also, the marks they have on the chest seems like military grades/badges...mhh.
EDIT: good work with the lighting in the fourth panel, Tom. The way thou render floodlight shadows is majestic, even if it's not entirely correct.
EDIT2: i think i never seen kat sho euphoric...the facial expression is fantastic.

Wow. Anja had a lot of spare time. This brings to my mind if she was the one who created robot originally. Maybe she was just collecting or testing them... But obviously, interest in robots runs in the family :-)

If Robot had access to all these bodies, it would be like Ben 10 or something. That would be so sweet. You don't KNOW it was an arena for fighting. It could have been some kind of robo-circus.

i cannot imagine a matador in a circus...the arena idea has some reason to it.
Another problem: why the first 5 bots from the foreground have big glass pieces in their chests?

Another problem: why the first 5 bots from the foreground have big glass pieces in their chests? They're focusing crystals for chest-mounted repulsor weapons. Haven't you seen Iron Man?

Just to add something different, Annie looks so sweet when she grabs Kat all concerned

Also, I like robots a lot. Just to add to the various speculations, I was under the impression that these robots were horrendously old and built by Anja when she was around Kat's age (or maybe a little older). Their ornate designs could just be a stylistic thing, and be completely unrelated to Robot. Or maybe Anja designed the S1 model too. (Is that what it's called? I don't know)
