Reynardine looks so disappointed when he doesn't get to break it open I have an idea, though. Why don't we use the permalinks in these threads? Because, you know, that way if we come back to post in it after the next page is done, we still have a working link. www.graphicsmash.com/comics/gunnerkrigg.php?view=single&ID=16101

Hmm, a lock whose key Anja didn't give to Kat? I think our heroines are about to find whatever it was that worried Anja so.

I'll edit when the main site updates. I keep meaning to permalink but I get distracted xP

Aww, Kat's so excited to build a robot! Her face in panel 3 is great. I'm concerned that her first attempt might end up looking like Mr. Eglamore (or someone else she thinks is hot*). She'd be all admirin' Robot's new muscle-y body, and Antimony would have to go, "Um... I don't think that's quite what Robot had in mind..." *maybe a bird

Reynardine reminds me of my brother at age 3 in the last panel.

I don't think we've ever seen Rey in such a good mood before.

You'd think that it would have occurred to Kat and Annie that if Anya didn't give them the key to that box, it might be a sign that opening it is a bad idea.
We may be in for the Gunnerkrigg equivalent of Pandora's box....

It's a locked door. Locked doors must be opened. It has to be done.

It seems pretty obvious to me that it was what Anja was refering to when she said "let them figure it out". A secret that require a minimum of maturity to be known, and she thinks that they're ready. I'm thinking about something related to Surma (they known each other, after all).

We may be in for the Gunnerkrigg equivalent of Pandora's box.... It may also be a boring ol' cellar, that Anya completely forgot about because it's so boring. ;D And the only reason why it is locked may be to prevent people from letting it stand open. It's friggin' hole in the ground after all! But given that it's Gunnerkrigg Court we're talking about, I think todd will be closer to the truth than me.

When I said I wonder where Anja put all her old stuff, I wasn't expecting an answer this quickly. Cool.
Also, lockpicks are not known for be sturdy enough to smash hardened metal designed to keep people out. Either he can manipulate the material of the lockpicks, like he can with his body, or just got excited without thinking.

I think it's the former. just look: www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=218they look definitely NOT like lockpicks. Actually, that bird idea would be really handy for infiltrating the tictocs and discover their purpose. to be really devious, she can reverse-engineer a tick-tock for making a body out of it. woah.

It's a locked door. Locked doors must be opened. It has to be done. No. That's only true if said door has a sign say "Do Not Unlock For An Reason. This Means You." Not opening it then is like a sin or something.

The Donlan's are smart people... and I bet they know Annie and Kat ARE GOING to open that door. If she was really worried she could have given her a different space, or whatever.
I love so much Annie's expression in the last pannel... she's very motherly-like... Rey reacts that way around her (sometimes) and then you have Robot all going "mummy" around her.

Kat will probably make a great science teacher when she grows up. Because the ability to say corny stuff like
with a straight face is practically a requirement for teachers.

Ooooooh, exciting. _____________ Something on the about the perspective of the fifth panel is confusing me, I thought the door was like hovering or something at first.
