we only have two ghosts that would be of any note, mort and the sword girl by the river. another thing it could be is a NEW ghost.....and it's a girl....and mort falls in love.

Hahaha you watch far too many hollywood movies. But I'm pretty sure Mort gets at least a mention in this chapter, I've been waiting for more backstory on him for ages

All we know about him is that he used to be no good at scaring, and he of course, being a ghost, died at some point in the past. I thought for a while he could simply be a comedy-relief sub-sidekick, which would be fine, but backstory is even better.

Is there any way we can change the heading of this thread? It currently reads "Ch 13" rather than "Ch 16". For a moment there, I thought that somebody had more things to say about the Alistair chapter.
The first thing that I thought of when I read the title was Mort, but we'll have to wait until next week to find out.

Yeah, also it seems like Mort is new in the whole ghost-business, so maybe he died not too long ago. Also we might see the guides again, and get some more info there.

The first thing I thought was that somebody (like Kat) was actually go to tell a ghost story. My ideas are so horrible

A "ghost story" could also referre to a ghost telling a story. Maybe Mort will tell a story about ... something not nessecerly related to ghosts.

Or Mort is telling a story about ghosts.

That probably wouldn't go down well with those readers who like Mort's crush on Annie. I briefly considered the possibility that this chapter would involve the week of camping mentioned near the start of Chapter Fifteen, since ghost stories are often associated with camping out under the stars - but since the picture on the title page includes a closed window, that doesn't seem so likely.

Yes, I think it would be nice if (assuming this chapter's about Mort) we get to see a little more of his crush on her.

Tom,
I just want to say that this is easily my favorite chapter. It's dark. It has characters dealing with very difficult and scary situations and having to make tough decisions.
I also think it's a great concept that, because Martin didn't know that it was fire around him, he manifested it as something entirely different based on how he felt about it. At least, that's what I read into it. Either way, I think it's a very interesting and creative concept.
I'm definitely a big fan of the comic, and I look forward to seeing what else you have in store for us readers.
