I don't usually do requests because I only have time/brainpower to do 1% of the stuff I want to do, but since the next GC Thug comic is going to take a while I needed something to do as a break from it. Also Coyote's reveal about his own non-existence moved the idea to the forefront of my mind.

So here's a cross between Gunnerkrigg Court and the anime Serial Experiments: lain. Like the last GC Thug if you haven't seen the anime all the way through you won't know what the hell is going on. If that's the case then this image will only be a disturbing tableau of familiar figures to you, but there is some fanservice to make up for that. Randy Disaster takes his shirt off. Not want? I guess McBibble must take the blame for this one. [edit] Characters are Zimmy as Lain, Gamma as Arisu, and Dr. Disaster as the god of the internet. Zimmy is declining Dr. Disaster's offer to help "debug" her. And if you think this image is unpleasant you should see what happens five minutes later. [/edit]

Unlike the last fancomic I actually drew this one instead of using cut/paste. And I probably should've mentioned in my self-reintroduction to this thread that I do accept criticism and answer questions, but unless it's of interest to non-artists I'd rather do it by PM. Also the answer to most will be, "That was me adding another corner so I could cut that one as well."

[edit2] Woot, now there is a Lucas'd version with three fewer errors and hair highlights that are 2x more highlight-y. Old version here.[/edit2]

very nice animation. the technicals are a touch rough but you did a fantastic job balancing her during the motion to make it seem fluid and practiced. I take it that this is an avatar homage? did you get a motion reference from there?

I will say though, as someone familiar with dem whacks, that typically a front kick like that requires pushing off your bottom foot (onto the ball of the foot, usually with a slight twist of the leg) as in mechanical terms the power is driven from a drive off of the ground, through the hips and 'snapped' with the kicking leg, rather than driven by the power of the leg itself. A flatfooted kick like that is generally lower and used to check a knee or counterkick.

That is excellent Melly. Just finished watching all three seasons with my mom and sister.

Antimony really needs to firebend more.

Thank you, Sierra. You should watch Legend of Korra if you haven't already. I believe it is streaming on nick.com in the US at the moment. I did a drawing of Antimony visiting Korra and Naga in the north pole, I'll post it when I get access to a scanner.

Saurus, thanks a lot! I just learned how to make animated gifs on Monday, this was a real challenge. I referenced a clip of aang firebending in season 3 since he was small like Annie. Next I'm trying to do a more difficult one of a metalbender vs a waterbender with only my own self for motion reference.

My computer runs Ubuntu and I used Pencil and GIMP to put this together.

Yeah, I watched LoK too. Can't wait for Book 2 and all that spirit-world juju.

I usually just go to avatarchapters.tv when I need my fix ;)

Woah jeesus lookit that jonesbabe

So everytime I try to draw gunnerkrigg it only comes out just a littlebit under par but surely if I keep trying I will produce an acceptable fan art.

That being said, have this doodle.

I have a really terrible desire to draw ridiculous necks I apologize profusely.
