Andrew's never been outside of the Court? Never been in a real forest? That seems oddly significant. Also, creepy owl thing. Let's see how friendly it turns out to be. I wonder if it was drawn to/influenced by Andrew's "luck" - do you suppose that he has similar " attractive" properties as Antimony?

What the fuck is that thing.
At least we know the source of the claw now.
I don't think it's Coyote.
Also, what is up with Annie closing her eyes every time she speaks in this chapter? She doesn't normally do that. A bit worrying, I think something is up...

AW! Come here you freaky little thing! I don't care if it has a name in the future, it's called Chancely now. Hello, Chancely! Would you care for some mice?

Why am I always the only one in every group I'm ever in that thinks the mildly terrifying thing is cute? Is it the eyes? It's probably the eyes. But come on! Who wouldn't want a barn owl dino monkey? I know I want one.

Why does this creature remind me of basilisk or something.

cause a basilisk is a combination of bird and reptile, as is this guy

Why does this creature remind me of basilisk or something. I think we have it. A Basilisk. Though traditionally they were part Rooster, rather than owl. I guess this will be a slight spin on history. It also explains why they're not dead yet, or maybe Smitty's powers

Ok, right. They're randomly keep running into various forest-dwellers at random, no matter how unlikely it seems, until their sheer number becomes so threatening that they feel it's safer to "retreat" as we've seen. Smitty ftw!

Smitty ftw! Explains why Annie wasn't worried and found whatever they were running from funny. Fits with Smitty's powers I like it

Eeeh gasps, man!... A Chicken-Owl-Lizard-Snake-Raptor Eldritch abomination hybrid... thing... I wonder what it tastes like. I hope it tastes like bacon Everybody loves bacon. The veggies are missin' out But on the serious note, it's probably Coyote trollin' them

For some reason it reminds me of this, even though they don't have much in common. Maybe I just have a mental box for "freaky-owl-hybrid-forest-creature", and they both fit into it.

I'm quite confounded by how creeped out a lot of people on the boards are to the creature. I find it matches up nicely with the initial 'curiosity' it exudes.

Andrew: Will we see any animals?
Lady Luck: Do you want to?
I suspect the same as others have: They will run into more and more creatures until they're fleeing from an avalanche of small furry critters wanting to greet them and be their bestest friend forever.
I'm a little concerned about the fact that we can't see the entire ...whatever it is. Seems like a decoy. Like an anglerfish would have, but with a tiny talking owlmonkeyroosterthingy instead of a lightbulb.

I can only imagine the creature would be of 4 possibilities:
- It's Coyote. - It's not Coyote, but it is the thing they will be running from. - It is, in fact, harmless. Something else will come and chase them. - A mix of the three previous possibilities.
It might be Coyote's ploy to introduce Andrew how wonderful the forest is, by sending this harmless creature which is, in fact, collaborating with a more terrible beast (disregarding size) that will, in the end, lead to the situation where they are running for their lives.
Or maybe Annie might screw something up. That might be another possibility. Or even less likely, Andrew. Perhaps something else entirely. Let Friday come (the answer).

Boxbot of the forest... How awful. I shall call him... Birdbot. No, that makes no sense. Owlbox? Yes. I shall call him... Owlbox. Owlbox, you are a disappointment.

Hi everyone! First post, but a long time reader. The critter that's inside of today's comic is from the Andros and Bahama Islands in the Caribbean; it's called a Chickcharney. If you met one and you're nice to it, it'll give you good luck. If you're not... I think it's safe to say we know how this is going to end
