Should have known this was Carver's idea.

Annie looks tiny next to eggers in the first panel, then again, he is big.
Looks like she rewound the story to the beginning so we'll see what led up to them running out of the forest.

Good on Eglamore for not trying to stop her - she prolly woulda gone on ahead anyways.
Now let's see how it all went wrong...

I bet they were inside the woods for less than five minutes.

Seems like a poor idea to just go into the forest without informing Coyote...

I'm betting that the thing they're running from isn't that dangerous at all. I have this picture in my head of an oversize, disapproving Anwyn matriarch trying to give Annie a good talkin' to.

In the first panel she only reaches his waist, which seems a bit too short, but in the fifth she's already up to his hips, which seems more appropriate compared to their previous appearances together.

Ah! In retrospect, I see that Smitty's luck didn't kick in until they just happened to exit where they entered.
Maybe they had been giving Smitty's talent a workout: something for which a back-up plan would be prudent*
* Antimony Prudence Carver has a nice ring, but I rather doubt that is her middle name.

Annie, Smitty's power makes things more orderly. It isn't "luck" specifically. There can be a significant difference that you should keep in mind.

The more I think about it, the more I find myself agreeing with the Headmaster's choices for medium. Good thing that Parley & Eggers were around doing US-style ye olde military exercises near Nth Korea the Forest, I guess! That damn Nth Korea. They won't even give up their nuclear graph paper program. ;D

What? No 'what's the worst that could happen?' If you're going to tempt fate, you might as well go all out, Carver. Slacker.

Mighty Eyebrows Boy's eyebrows are getting mightier in the last panel!
(Ever since coyote called him that I can't help but notice them every time we see him...)

There should probably be a link to the page in the first post?
The fourth panel, where Smitty's pointing something out to Parley amuses me immensely. I like how serious and absorbed they both look, while Carver and Egglamore are discussing strategy.

Hrmm, now that I think about it, they didn't announce their visit. It should be fine for Annie, but Andrew... I wonder if that rule's there for a reason.

But Smitty's the medium now so I think he'll get a free pass but for Annie's situation... it maybe more difficult or maybe not since Coyote is very fond of her. Now that you brought it up... Did Surma ever need to announce her visit to the forest or can she just go there whenever she wants like it's her backyard or something?

Annie is the Forest's Medium - one of the highest authorities in the Forest. I'd doubt that anyone recognizing that authority would give her any trouble. Andrew is the interloper from the Court, visiting without pre-announcement. He could be in trouble... except that he was invited, and is accompanied, by the Forest's Medium. (Aside from the little detail that a lot of animals don't recognize any sort of authority other than being better at applying physical violence.)
