This page's comment beats every other page's comment in a way that might never be beaten again.

She is rather "gangsta".

Jones isn't alive? But... she IS alive... she's alive in my heart.

She's not alive? I knew it! She IS a robot!
I wonder what's next for this chapter, since it's not done. Maybe Anne asks about the stars?

I am very pleased with this page on many levels. The chapter could end here and it would be just fine. However, I'm sure Tom has some other wonderful things planned. I would like to know Jones' previous history with Coyote, and if there's any reason for that nickname he chose for her.
This week's comment was also fracking awesome.

LAUGHING ON LINE, tom, you're such a troll with the bling thing.
Anyways, even she doesn't know what she is, but yet she is something akin to a golem. Not truly alive, yet animate.
She was born of rock, that much we know. Whether she had the same form as always is an unknown.

Maybe I'll go with a 'planet soul' or planet's observing eye kind of thing.
Annie still needs to ask her about the stars, since Coyote referenced that.

I'm still laughing at the comment. I can't stop. Bwahahahah! Ahem. Anyway, now we see how excellent this chapter really is. Since Jones does not know what she is, a short, simple answer is impossible. We had to be shown what she is, as much as we can know, and we were shown in a brilliant, beautiful way. And to everyone who said it was a troll: I think this constitutes proof. Tom does not troll with his comic. So there.

This is definitely the best update ever.

Because she is an orphaned alien from the race who created our solar system.
Somewhere in the darkness between stars is a race of Jones...es... just watching us.
I will not believe anything else.

That is the best gif in the history of the internets.
That kind of confirms she is the stone Coyote was talking about but... human intellect magic? Is that the answer to all questions? Aristotle would be so proud. We'd have to figure out be explained why Coyote retains memory of having been an animal while Jones does not remember being a stone... its kind of obvious, in a way.
Also: the last page was among the best pages along with MORT FUN TIME, in degrees of comedic appeal.

Jones apparently just... is. I fail to see how this proves Coyote's story in any way, shape, or form.

Whoever guessed that she would not know what she is gets 10,000 cookies. Seriously. Jones apparently just... is. I fail to see how this proves Coyote's story in any way, shape, or form. Coyote probably knows what she is. -- Annie still needs to "ask about the stars in the night sky!"

This page's comment beats every other page's comment in a way that might never be beaten again. The truest truth! Suppose Jones honesly answers "I don't know", having spent millenia to try to find out? (Maybe this is why she is at the Court) Would THAT kill the suspense? Annie: "What are you?" Jones: "I don't know." I just got chills. Good call, Xan!

Jones apparently just... is. I fail to see how this proves Coyote's story in any way, shape, or form. So the explanation for Jones is the same as is usually given for God? Man, that is truly infuriating. Tom: Grand High King of the Trolls This is definitely the best update ever. El Presidente For Life of the Democratic Republic of TROLOLOLOLO

I wonder when she first became 'animate' though, the Silurian? Also, I would love to know if she kept that form for all of that history or if she took on the human form later on.

Gotta love her candor. LAUGHING ON LINE, tom, you're such a troll with the bling thing. Anyways, even she doesn't know what she is, but yet she is something akin to a golem. Not truly alive, yet animate. Not "alive" in the traditional, biological sense because she doesn't have a heartbeat or metabolism, but she *certainly* functions and is conscious. To me that's being alive "but not as we know it, Jim". Ah, but she was certainly BORN TO ROCK

But why does she take other people's names? And why did Coyote say she steals them?
He must know what she is.

But why does she take other people's names? And why did Coyote say she steals them? He must know what she is. I guess because she never had any real name of her own, and the fact that she would have to change her name over the ages as a way to not arouse too much suspicion.

She was born of rock, that much we know. Are you absolutely, positively sure of that? I wouldn't. And she could've existed before, just not aware enough, or the memory of that didn't survive. I guess we are are none the smarter. Also, the mystery of "Why is Jones so detached" suddenly turns into: "Why is she bothering with people at all".

I guess because she never had any real name of her own, and the fact that she would have to change her name over the ages as a way to not arouse too much suspicion. That's probably accurate. That large bulletpointed list of "things we know about Jones" that was in a recent thread said "She's probably incapable of creativity." So she can't come up with her own names.

Chapter not over, guys. After many comics of unclothed Jones we may get to see Jones' "but." Heh. But why does she take other people's names? And why did Coyote say she steals them? Gotta be called something when interacting with humans. And after seeing how she got the name Jones I suspect Coyote said she steals names as a dig, a reminder of being accused of identity theft.

Annie looks so sad when Jones says she's not alive. Makes me wonder what would happen if Jones did come "alive". But I guess it's a matter of perception. Why doesn't she consider herself alive?
