Looks like Ysengrin is determined. In the forest of Gillitie Wood, near Gunnerkrigg Court, there grows the rare and wondrous Wolf Tree, Lupus Arborus. While it was previously thought that at 39 inches per day Bamboo was the fastest growing plant on Earth, recent research indicates that the growth rate of the Wolf Tree far outstrips this, potentially achieving a vertical extension of greater that 250 feet per second, depending on soil and rainfall conditions.

I think the Wood needs to update their air defenses. The wolf launcher can't cope with many modern threats.

Wait till Jones hears about this! If she thought Ysengrin was warping his body before...

Oh hell yes, I totally called it! (well, I didn't expect Ysengrin himself to go up, but still!)
This is a historic moment for me.

Anyone else look at Ysengrin's gums being bared and think of a dog sticking its head out a car window? I think now would be a good time for Annie to start some fires.

Yeah, it's hard to tell whether Ysengrin is trying to make a tree cannon or attempting to grow towards Eglamore who already has a head start and is increasing distance between him and Ysengrin.
He would obviously have a better chance of catching up to them by using his superpeed and track them from the ground or even get in front of them and launch an attack from that point, but he isn't thinking strategically or clearly here.

[hums Superman theme song] I think the Wood needs to update their air defenses. The wolf launcher can't cope with many modern threats. Especially not a fully loaded Jimmy Jims hitting full afterburner at ground level. He'd have to have some pretty good tracking to hit that, even if he wasn't suddenly rooted to the ground. ;D

Ysengrin is doing this completely wrong. I would have caused the outskirts of the forest to grow into a wall and webbed in the entire sky once the sun has been blotted out, and Annie and Eglamore have been trapped within the bubble of Gillitie forest. millions of billions of spears would grow from every inch of the inside of the sphere. eventually they would be entangled and then impaled. all life in the forest would be extinguished. if you are going for the kill, go big or go home.

As I said, Ysengrin isn't thinking strategically, if he's even thinking at all. quite true, right now he's in blind rage, kill and eat everything that moves. after all how else do you explain him trying to kill Annie who he views as a friend, or a student.

Perhaps Coyote could recommend a good anger management therapist.
Does this mean that Ysengrin can arbitrarily increase the mass and volume of his wooden body? Or is he drawing in the biomass of the forest to fuel his assent?

all life in the forest would be extinguished. Trees are actually alive Anyway, ouch. I doubt Ys has a fighting chance there, I am more worried what is it going to do to him.

A really nice trick for Eglamore to perform: lead Y into making a knot into his tree :-)

It's time for Annie to remember she can create a force field with her blinker stone.

I don't think Annie should attack Ysengrin and his trees. It would hurt the potential making up.

At last, Annie looks freaked out. I think the Wood needs to update their air defenses. The wolf launcher can't cope with many modern threats. I dunno, imagine dat face suddenly crashing in. Even if jettisoning canopy will carry him away, it will take some time to restore the target's peristalsis basic motoric functions. Wait till Jones hears about this! If she thought Ysengrin was warping his body before... And this besomes more tree-like (branches, leaves). Hmmm. Oh hell yes, I totally called it! (well, I didn't expect Ysengrin himself to go up, but still!) Gunnercookies! ;D Especially not a fully loaded Jimmy Jims hitting full afterburner at ground level. He'd have to have some pretty good tracking to hit that, even if he wasn't suddenly rooted to the ground. ;D Then again, if that magic thing goes down, he probably would be instantly downgraded from aeroballistic to just ballistic. Yeah, it's hard to tell whether Ysengrin is trying to make a tree cannon or attempting to grow towards Eglamore who already has a head start and is increasing distance between him and Ysengrin. Ysengrin is doing this completely wrong. I would have caused the outskirts of the forest to grow into a wall and webbed in the entire sky Maybe he raises his head above crowns to see where to pop up more trees. But yeah, it doesn't look like this. Trees are actually alive Not after they collapse in one tangled broken mess. It's time for Annie to remember she can create a force field with her blinker stone. Since when? A few decoys, though, could bewilder him in this state.

Ach! Hans, run! It's the Surface to Air Wolf! Also this: If Jimmy Jimms can't use magic, what does the Valknut teleport count as? Was it put into the Donlan's computer system?

Even if jettisoning canopy will carry him away, it will take some time to restore the target's peristalsis basic motoric functions. You may have a point. And on further reflection, if your commanding general is mentally unbalanced then it is strategically very desirable to load him into a weapon system and fire him at the enemy early in the engagement. Maybe the wolf launcher is actually genius.
