www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=1078I hope Annie isn't going to regret digging further down this rabbit hole. I wonder if this will have anything to do with Ysengrin's missing ear. Surely there is something more personal for Ysengrin involved than the height of the pedestal on which he keeps Coyote?

I was afraid that Ysengrin would be pissed at Annie for getting to hear the Great Secret. I let out a little sigh of relief when his hand opened in that last panel.
On another note, why the heck are there no posts in this thread yet?

Very good question. Also his hand opening makes him look sorta gentle.

Antimony Carver: Great with wolf-trees, terrible with humans.

Interesting choice of words there, Coyote being the god of men. Anyway, good to see Ysengrin is still open to Annie's friendship.

Well honestly, considering how close they were just acting earlier, it'd be pretty wild if he just suddenly flipped out and was like I HATE YOU HUMAN GIRL. They are legit friends. Now a more pressing question: when did Annie start traveling entirely by trees? Wouldn't it have been faster to move across the ground?

It's interesting, seeing Annie develop. The last panel today sounds so different from both her mother and her own personality styles in the past. I hope Ysengrin doesn't jump on her (verbally or physically) because it seems like she's taken off quite a few masks at the moment in her care and concern for her friend.
She may be worried about him, but she's making herself vulnerable by expressing it. It's no less brave (just in a different way) than when she was a little girl, walking into and pushing back the flames to comfort that scared boy.

I expect that he probably takes great care not to hurt her. She's pretty fragile so it wouldn't take much, at least not for him. Deep down, he's probably just a big teddy bear. Annie's just the only one who knows it. Antimony Carver: Great with wolf-trees, terrible with humans. Yeah. She's one of those people who is only comfortable around a group of people who are not her peers. Like the best sort of kids teachers aren't good at relating to adults at all.

Antimony: tugging on the sleeves of gods
Shame we didn't get to see much of the forest. Perhaps Jones will show us.

Annie watch your fingers aaaahh I was thinking that too. Hopefully he notices, because I doubt he can feel through the wood. I wouldn't put my small crunchy grabbers into that hand, personally. I need those to dress myself.

He has motor neurons to move his arms, he's probably got sensory neurons to go with them. Alternatively: Magic.

Slept in a forest last night. I can confirm: Not nearly as magical as it sounds.
