Spill it already, Coyote!I have also guessed the great secret. Yis is actually a small brown bear masquerading as a hound. Check out those toofies in panel 4. Yikes.

Is that some kind of face, Coyote?
Ys seems pretty unhappy. I wonder how this secret concerns him...

I find Coyote creepier when he's forming weird cyclopean shapes than when he's just being huge and strong looking.

Eerie parallel in Coyote's dialogue choice today, with the page where Annie decided to stay in the forest for the summer.

Pannel 3 > DAT FACE
It occures to me that if they ever adapt Gunnerkrigg Court into series or films, they could do it in live action, except Coyote who would be hand-drawn animation (also possibly etheric sequences).

That was a bit round-about. I wonder if Coyote wanted Annie in the right frame of mind for this?
(Quick Annie! Before you start, get him to throw in how to make a panel 3 face!)

She can't, she didn't even see him do that. Whatever this secret is, Ysengrin is not happy about it being told. I'm not completely sure I want to know, it could be very dangerous for Annie to know if it's that big a deal.

Man, whatever it is has Ysengrin doing rage cartwheels. And Coyote loves abusing that poor bastard. Nice ridiculo-face though.

Perhaps only a shape shifting god can do that. One thing is for certain though, all the ladies love when his face comes apart.
I shall look forward to this and hope that Ysengrin can control himself.

I've just decided that I never want to get between two forest gods who disagree with each other.

I'm actually guessing that this "secret" will be one that Annie will wish she hadn't heard, somehow. It might be actually very bad for her.
Something about Ysengrin's reaction feels less to me like "please, don't say this embarrassing thing about me" and more like "please, don't do this to her you asshole."
Coyote is a trickster god, after all, and he's obviously in a VERY tricky mood. It'd be just like a trickster god to convince someone to do what you want in exchange for a negative "favor".

I always figured "Coyote's great secret" would be "a secret about Coyote", more than just "a secret kept by Coyote". Some juicy details about his past maybe. Well, whatever it is, I expect it to be somewhat embarrassing. To whom remains to be seen, though.

Well, Ysengrin also clearly doesn't want to share too much information with the Court people. And regardless of how he treats Annie personally, she is from the Court. Anyway, I don't feel that's likely. I'd bet on either 1: something really unpleasant for Annie (because the chapter has been too silly until now and it's GC we're talking about) or 2: something relly silly. On an unrelated note: no idea where had Gamma left the headband of +5 straightness, but looks like Dora Bianchi (of QC fame) has just picked it up. Ether must be a really weird place.

Anyone else see Ysengrin smiling for a second in panel 4? No? Oh, okay then.

This whole page has danger written all over it. It's like Mephistopheles. I think panel 2 is one of the most malicious looks I've seen on Coyote yet. Do not like. Seems like either: - The secret, once out, has the potential to be dangerous to all the people of the forest (Y's upset because he doesn't want to be put in danger), or - The secret, once out, has the potential to be dangerous to Annie (Y's upset because he doesn't want Annie put in danger).
Or both, possibly a "if I tell you, I can't let you go back to that place and tell them" kind of thing.

Another idea: Part of the reason that Ysengrin is so upset is that Coyote has previously made him go through a bunch of suffering in order to keep the Great Secret...

Well regardless to what the secret is, do we all agree that it's a trap set by coyote? There's just something about the things that has happened so far...like that jaw in the beginning of the chapter that looks like it'll snap shut the moment you stick your hands in it, or how when Annie tried to scare coyote she was led into a trap angler-fish style.

Coyote what are you doing put your face back together this instant Another idea: Part of the reason that Ysengrin is so upset is that Coyote has previously made him go through a bunch of suffering in order to keep the Great Secret... I like this idea. I like it a lot.

I'm with 'potentially dangerous to the forest' only because Y was upset when it was mentioned earlier, before he and Annie got all this time to get to know each other.

Just a little request to you who make the new comic threads; would it be much to ask you stopped adding the tiny spoilers in the title? I know most are insignificant out of context, but since I read my webcomics in batches of a month or two at the time, yet still frequent forums, I'd appreciate not to get any ideas xD Anyways, no biggie, but you could just write "Comic [xxxx]" or something like that?

Not to mention every post occuring here is a spoiler. Some of them spoil things most people don't even SEE when they first read the comic. To say "change the naming of the threads so I don't see spoilers about the comic you're discussing at length" is kinda redundant.

What exactly is there to read on this forum that isn't a spoiler? If you can't take two minutes to read the update before switching over, it's not really our problem.
