"Suddenly," Tom declared loudly, sitting in his amazing drawing area, "I will show them something stunning and gorgeous." This page is really pretty.

Good mileage. Fixer upper, one major repair, only down payment is magic and he runs on fish. Downside is he's only got three gears. Stop, turbo, and kill the humans. Is it just me, or does his wood seem a little more out of whack than usual?

I love their expressions in this update. Annie is all like "Ysengrim! Hiii!" and he's all like "Oh. You again. Is hugging me really necessary? Fine."

Wait a second, is there something running up behind Eglamore? I can see something shadowy and possibly Reyardine shaped?
Anyone see it?

I saw that, too. I figured it was just the silhouette of the court, far in the distance. But now it looks a little strange...

I think it's just distant buildings behind Eggers.
Ysengrin has thoughtfully grown some handholds for the 'hasty human', who's definitely more confident than last time we saw her up there! He also looks a bit less frail than he has been (no 'Hrrf! Hrrf-ing...yet)
(Love that framing in the bottom half!)
So, Mr. Tricksy-ote? What's all this about, then? Will Shadow 2's alteration be mentioned?

A page that says so much, so beautifully, with no words. One of the reasons I adore this comic. In a few short images, the change in the nature of the relationship between Annie and Ysengrin is perfectly captured. I particularly like the perches that Ysengrin has grown for Annie in the last image. Wondering how Eglamore would react to this? I imagine him frowning while walking back toward the Court, kicking a rock, and mumbling, "I never get to ride Ysengrin". This made me laugh, a lot. D

This update was so beautiful it made me register an account ;_; And in the closeup, his face is definitely saying "I'm okay with this", at least for me xD"
This is truly a masterpiece, conveying so many emotions and feels without any words ;_;

Aww, Ysengrin, you big softie. Acting all stoic and unconcerned, yet carefully providing the human girl some helpful footholds. I think Annie's on to you, dear heart.

Nice. Wow, this page looks so nice. Though my mom asked why the giant wolf thing was wearing a dress.

It's nice to see Ysengrin again. Like Tom said, it's definitely been a while.
However, I still want to know what's going on! We don't know why she collapsed last chapter, what her dad was doing, and now, why has Coyote asked her into the forest? So many questions!

I laughed at this, until I remembered Sivo (the Rogat Orjak), and now I realize that Eglamore has lost alot of friends.

Awwhahahahahawww.... And comfortable for climbing. Let's not forget that. P.S.: Lovely page) Wondering how Eglamore would react to this? As a gentleman, he have to nominate her offhanded remark for "understatement of the season" award. mumbling, "I never get to ride Ysengrin". Well, he rode a dragon-kin... oh, I am doubting Eggers likes that at all. Wonder if they'll discuss this on the way back. And how much this would veer into "not all that different" territory.

It is indeed a pretty scene, but my first reaction was "Oh, Antimony - you are liking the forest too much." Maybe I was preconditioned by the coyote skull on the title page, but I still think this chapter is when Annie gets a harsh lesson on what it really means to be a medium.

This is adorable, but doesn't Annie seem quite contored in the third panel? I still think this chapter is when Annie gets a harsh lesson on what it really means to be a medium. Agreed, it's all too idyllic right now, there must be some kind of conflict that arises in this chapter! And we still need answers about Annie's collapse and her father. We may not get answers about her father anytime soon, but hopefully Annie and Coyote will discuss her collapse/health problems?

And this page is the perfect example of why this is my favorite webcomic. I've always loved Ysengrin. Even though most of their time in the forest together over the summer was spent in silence, this page really shows how much they've grown together. How by merely lending her his presence and strength, and by extension comfort, they have grown comfortable with each other, and gotten to know each other in a very intimate way. It's not necessary to have to talk constantly, which is something I think is forgotten a lot.
In a way, I kind of had the same thought. Not necessarily that she's liking the forest too much, but rather that she's not being as neutral as a medium should be. She not the medium yet, so I'm not sure how important it is at current, but her blatant disregard for the authority of the Court can't be good. Preference should not be something a medium should have, and respect (as well as skepticism) for both sides is necessary.
But again, she's young and not the medium, and who doesn't enjoy climbing trees... or rough and hardened wolf gods?

I love how bright Ysengrin's eye is, its really glowing.
I hope that Ysengrin continues to be some sort of father figure for Annie. (But why do I have this sinking feeling that he'll pass away?)
