What's the etiquette here, should I delete mine?

She took the hairband of straightness, and says something about not always running from what scares you... are we in for something on monday??? Also crying Zimmy, awwwwww. Everything fads away, so it was a dream after all? So it *was* Kat that Zimmy didn't want to see!

The fact Gamma spoke English and it all faded to white suddenly, the title of the chapter, Wednesday's, page, and Zimmy's line say something I have neglected since the very start of this chapter: it is about Kat. (I just realised the coulour of the speech bubble)

I'm sure Gamma was just trying to tell Kat the headband looked ridiculous.

I think Zimmy said that. Not Gamma.

Taking the HoS and adding that line she might as well have just drawn a picture. Also i cant wait tell monday when we might at long last get a little bit of explanation. My thought that Annie being in the hospital is real, while kat being awake is not. Zimmy and Gamma were dream walking or something.

Next comic we should finally find out if Zims and Gams are/were actually there. I am thinking the headband of +5 straightness will be missing but if it's not and Kat is sitting bedside then they were only dreamwalking.

I suddenly recall all the people supposing that all of this was in Kat's head.
It suddenly seems to work.

In case of emergency: - Remove headband
- Hug nearest person
- Don't look directly into the light
Thank you for flying Zimmy Air. Have a pleasant day.

And just when I thought this chapter was starting to make some kind of sense.
Aside: So many people commenting on the "headband of straightness"- where did this reference come from?

Aside: So many people commenting on the "headband of straightness"- where did this reference come from? I may have started its use on this forum but "the headband of +5 straightness" is an ancient ttrpg joke. It's right up there with "Laptoy the Unexpected" (riff on d&d2.0 pregen character).

Gamma looks so grown-up in the second panel. I always knew she was older than the other girls, but she looks especially older in that panel. Maybe it's just because of how long it's been since last she was seen and the drawing has changed.

Awwwww. Also, how Zimmy is going to look after Gamma will give her the misappropriated accessory... I am thinking the headband of +5 straightness will be missing but if it's not and Kat is sitting bedside then they were only dreamwalking. I don't see the problem, given that it involves Zimmy either way. They all could find themselves wearing new partyhats after dreamwalking just as well.

Kat's probably never seen Zimmers do anything but be angry or snarky, maybe the honesty here will make the message sink in a bit better. Also seconding Tierra, Gamma looks both rather tall and somewhat older than the others here. She's always had a pretty round face, but it doesn't make her seem young here.
And oh yeah, awww.

Aside: So many people commenting on the "headband of straightness"- where did this reference come from? Kat started wearing it after Paz thought that she was hitting on her at the party, but clearly hasn't been very comfortable with it. The term itself sounds like D&D magical item, which are typically called something in the vein of "Object X of Effect Y". Personally, I can't help but wonder if it's the headband that made Kat seem so scary in Zimmy-vision. It's an artificial object, possibly with metal band inside it, worn in close contact with skin. Zimmy's trippy vision might extrapolate that into a cybernetic monster? Yeah, far fetched as all hell, but how else can you speculate about this chapter? I wonder if Zimmy and Gamma were physically present or not, but either way I suspect that the hairband is gone in the next page. Maybe we'll see Zimmy wearing it the next time we see her!

The thing is, though, that this doesn't appear to be new. Zimmy was actively avoiding kat at the start of the chapter, we can now presume. But before that... Zimmy has always antagonised kat, every time they meet. In "dobranoc, gamma" she grudgingly admits it was nice of kat to bring gamma blankets- at the time it seemed like she's just grudging about everything, but now? I think it's possible to interpret it as surprise that kat is capable of niceness. After all, zimmy doesnt have the ame problem with annie. Any other author, I would privately suspect this as being a massive ass-pull development, but with Tom? Well, I think it calls for another retread of the archives. Another look at the power plant incident is interesting- does Zimmy look at nobody kat even once the whole time?
The thing is, Tom is used to internet fans, who pull apart every little thing (like the moon pool incident, for a start). It is much easier to unpick a riddle than to create one. Non-subtle foreshadowing would already have been worked out. Kat being something different to what we thought we knew, had to be a surprise, but also has to make sense in retrospect. I didnt think it did at first, but having gone back... it fits, in that it carefully doesn't contradict what we've seen so far.
I think this represents a massive step forward in our understanding of what the mystery, the question of gunnerkrigg, actually is. Everything has changed, with the smallest amount of drama. In short... Wow, Tom. If this has really been in the cards since the start, or near the start, then wow.

Well Gamma taking the insecure-straightness-headband is a good thing, also panel 2 made me shout louder than the day Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 was announced(no I'm not a shipper but seriously, its quite sweet). I wonder if theres more to what is scaring Zimmy, not just the big Kat Steampunk Robot Angel.

Kat needs some manlier birds than City Face in her life. That dragon bird looks good... with those beefy arms... coming out of its back like that....

I'm not convinced that Kat is "in the closet," it seems more likely that she is afraid of what people think about her tom-boy-ism and obsession with robots. So she started trying to be more girly thus the pink headband.
I know I'm probably wrong but I haven't seen/don't remember anything that gives the impression that Kat is in love with Annie.
