Don't worry Kat, Gam Gams is just going to play a round of bridge while you work out your differences.

Welp, Gamma left. That sure does signify...something. Yes sir, it surely does.

This is really interesting, it seems like shes going to intentionally start up one of her situations to try to help.
That or shes actually annie and annie is her.

Maybe they're already IN one of Zimmy's hallucinatory worlds and Gamma leaving won't really make things any worst at this point.
Or... maybe this is Kat's hallucination and "Gamma" is actually Annie?

Misdirection! Annie was the one who needed help all along!
OR IS IT?
Gunnerkrigg Court is like trying to observe the decay of a radioactive atom in a closed box.

Zimmy looks very apprehensive and/or sad in the third panel. Are they disconnecting? The lines between their heads look like they're going through some disruption. Gamma seems unfazed, though.

I suspect the fatigue Kat is exhibiting is similar to that of the spider Jack had to deal with. She has been possessed by the Pigeon and all that we are seeing is manifestation of such. Gamma can leave Zimmy because none of this is actually happening as Kat percieves.
My guess...I guess.

Hmm, I'm not sure. Based on what we know only three people are pulled into Zimmy's world. They are Annie, Gamma and Jack. Now, the one thing connecting all of them is etheric ability. We know that Annie has talent for the ether, which means either Gamma is far more powerful than her or that simply her and Zimmy are more "in tune". All three of them could be in ways in tune with Zimmy, we know that the last time she had one of her attacks with people around her no one noticed what happened, including Kat. Also, i'm dubious about that pigeon being a manifestation of Kat's thoughts, partially because we know that she has the ability to communicate with animals (or at least pigeons).

I'm betting this is a similar phenomenon to, but not the same exact same instance as, Zimmy's mind-world thing. It's a new thing for reasons we haven't seen yet, but since Zimmy has experience with something like it, she thinks one of her "episodes" (which she has experience with, of course) will allow her to have some influence here, hopefully for the better.
Who knows what's actually going wrong, though.

Hi all, just made an account.
My bet is that this is another head-fake, and that the 'Annie' lying in bed is Kat, and the 'Kat' is Annie, and this is another Zimmy episode. No idea about the pigeon yet. Another game of who's who, do you think?

How is there doubt that the pigeon is a representation of Kat's thoughts? The pigeon's expression matches Kat's in every panel. The pigeon says things that are pretty clearly things Kat would think but refrain from saying aloud. The pigeon is literally melded into Kat's head.

Panel #5: Zimmy is half-grinning and adorable again. So... the right question restored Kat's brownie points balance dropped on the previous page? How is there doubt that the pigeon is a representation of Kat's thoughts? The pigeon's expression matches Kat's in every panel. The pigeon may be a telepathic bug Paz accidentally stuck to Kat. For example. Why not? Or, more likely, a side-effect of her own inexperienced efforts.

In panel 1,2, and 4 you can see that kats hair is attached to the pigeon. So that must mean that Kat is Actually one of those Japanese Youkai that have mouthes on the back of their heads and she is slowly eating City Face.

I think this chapter is a continuation of this. But just grabbing it and pulling it off would be boring... Here's hoping Zimmy and Gam-gams go on a fantastic voyage into Antimony's subconscious, preferably with Kat and dressed as spacemonouts. It's only fair, Kat's pigeon has been getting all the screen-time lately.

Also, i'm dubious about that pigeon being a manifestation of Kat's thoughts, partially because we know that she has the ability to communicate with animals (or at least pigeons). Since Annie is a fire elemental at heart I'm guessing she's pretty strong. Probably just Gamma is more in tune to Zimmy. Paz can talk to animals. Not Kat. Not even pigeons. Plus its emulating everything Kat does, down to her moods, at the same time as her. Its either linked to her mentally or a part of her, and since shes not going "why is there a pigeon on my head" we can assume it is part of her, or only present etherically. In panel 1,2, and 4 you can see that kats hair is attached to the pigeon. So that must mean that Kat is Actually one of those Japanese Youkai that have mouthes on the back of their heads and she is slowly eating City Face. If you mean the black bands across the pigeon's backside. that may be part of its coloring. I love how Zimmy looks sad that Gamma is leaving, Gamma looks worried for Zimmy. I gotta say, those two make your heart melt sometimes.

Kat's humility when asking Zimmy for help just completely melted me. I really hope this turns out to be a Kat-introspective chapter, I love seeing her character grow. Brace yourselves for Zimmingham!

I can't say exactly why, but I'm getting this strange feeling that what is happening is not wholly real. Or possibly more real than the mere mundane "reality". It must be those weird perspectives and all that.

i'm starting to think this is more real then we are giving it credit for simply b/c of how unreal the last time Zimmy was around

Kat is not a happy little vegemite at the moment!
I did like someone's quip that Gamma's getting out while the getting's good! (Oh, Gamma wouldn't do that.... would she??)
I'm now siding with the theory that this is a Kat dream sequence that has Z & G intruding, and 'Cityface' acting as Kat's subconscious, but this chapter has had so many switches already that 'siding' is perhaps not a wise choice!
Anyway, that being the case. (and if we assume that Robot, Shadow, and Rey are just there as props) what is that is making Kat view Anne as unconscious? Does she feel that Annie has shut her out? Or that she's shut Anne out? Is the relationship is 'on life support' (with Kat turning off the annoying beeps)? This has been something we've been seeing ever since the events of 'Fire Spike'. If so, then why has Gamma decided Zimmy needs to step in? Why was Zimmy so freaked about it... (Ooh! She isn't keen on Kat, and doesn't care to be a substitute for Annie!)?
One other thought to ponder as we enjoy the ride:
"To err is human. To forgive, divine!"

I think this chapter is a continuation of this. Well, probably it is. Or maybe not. But when she's around stuff definitely happens. Yes, it is important because of reasons. Gamma has matters to attend to. Haha, perfect! ;D Kat's humility when asking Zimmy for help just completely melted me. I really hope this turns out to be a Kat-introspective chapter, I love seeing her character grow. I bet a lot of folk do. Though in variety of different senses.

Panel 3: "ok, let's..}.}}.}}NO CARRIER" Panel 4: Kat: "whoa blah-blah-blah annie blah-blah-blah"; Gamma, to herself, in Polish: <shit, what did she say right now> Panel 5: Zimmy: heh, told ya to learn / go on and do it / that was just a simple phrase you know Panel 6: Gamma, to herself: <ok, whatever, next time or something. see ya>; Kat, expecting an answer, freaks out Panel 7: Gamma, to herself: <smile and wave, girl, smile and wave>
I don't believe this much myself, Gamma should have been around native speakers for a long enough to pick a lot a of language by this point, but anyway, her inability to speak English was mentioned at least once before.

Pretty sure that Gamma has left so that Zimmy can have a Zimmingham moment on purpose (and the sparks were the reverse of Gamma's usual earthing of Zimmy: Zimmy has been loaded for bear).
Whether Annie's illness has to do with the past trip into spiderland or whether she's done something offscreen to trigger this remains to be seen.
